Oh boy... Here we are: **Windows 11** . I really don't know how to feel about this yet, but I'm definitely more skeptic than excited. A test version of it was leaked yesterday on the Chinese social media site Baidu. The new layout apparently looks more "Mac OS X-like" now. Presumably more adware and PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs) too. What really puzzles me though is how Microsoft has announced in the past that they don't plan on releasing future versions of Windows, instead choosing to continuously update Windows 10 (citation: https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-32658340). If I had to guess, it's because there are now quite a few severe bugs, vulnerabilities, and viruses that affect Windows 10. This new version of Windows will supposedly be announced on the 24th. Discuss ITT. **Links:** • Microsoft's official site: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/event • Reference Article #1 (Yahoo!): https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/windows-11-leaks-reveal-design-195119835.html • Reference Article #2 (PCWorld): https://www.pcworld.com/article/3621997/hands-on-with-windows-11.html • Reference Article #3 (Forbes): https://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2021/06/16/windows-11-leaks-online-what-it-means-for-xbox-and-pc-gamers/

Theory: Microsoft probably just had an employee leak it early from the inside for cheap and effective advertising.

>Presumably more adware and PUPs That's why I love Windows LTSC :D If you're wondering how to get it, https://old.reddit.com/r/Windows10LTSC/wiki/acquisition

Windows 11 was officially confirmed by Microsoft today. It will roll out as a free upgrade for Windows 10 users likely sometime around the holiday season. https://www.cnet.com/how-to/windows-11-price-compatibility-release-date-and-features-for-microsofts-new-update/

I'm surprised they didn't name it something not-a-number. /Windows Vista/ style

I think the most likely reason why they didn’t was to show that it’s closely related to Windows 10. Almost like a feature update but as a full release. Either that, or they disbanded their entire creative marketing department to save funds back with Windows 7. The codename is apparently Cobalt though.
