Remember the last time Iwata talked to analysts about hitting a yearly goal for Nintendo? Many of those in attendance seemed to indicate that Iwata planned to step down from his position if he didn't meet his own goal for the company. At yesterday's investor meeting, Iwata clears up the situation.
When Iwata was asked about stepping down if his goal isn't met, he responded with the following.
"I don't recall saying I'd resign."
Iwata believes the press misunderstood what he was saying, as well as his commitment. In other words, looks like Iwata is here to stay no matter what!
