minecraft doesn't have worlds with an infinite y co-ordinate, hero

That looks like some boot-legged version
Reply by Ignorant Jul 28 2013 04:36 GMT
Its probably modded.
Reply by hero of time Jul 28 2013 09:43 GMT
you shit eating kids ever think someone competent re-made minecraft with things mojang finds impossible to implement like a truly infinite world and a modding API.
No, of course you don't, minecraft is the only game you know.

Fortran, is it a re-made minecraft or is it a modification of Minecraft? If it's a mod, then you still have to admit you are still playing Minecraft, sorry.

It's a completely different (and in many ways superior) game. It's C++ not Java.

I don't know why you guys think some fat retarded sweed who grew up with BASIC and never advanced past it could think he's the only living human capable of making a 3D sandbox building game.
Reply by Fortran Jul 28 2013 22:07 GMT
We don't think that. But you can't honestly say minetest is "completely different"
Reply by Francis Jul 28 2013 23:07 GMT
Just as you can't say Minecraft is completely different to Infiniminer.
Reply by lain Jul 29 2013 01:04 GMT
Minecraft is vastly different than Infiniminer, except for maybe in the very very beginning before they added Survival and crafting.
Reply by Francis Jul 29 2013 01:48 GMT
Yeah, and Minetest has an API, Lua scripting, and an infinite Y co-ordinate. Things which Minecraft will never have, even via modding. Also it's LGPL.
Reply by Fortran Jul 29 2013 02:58 GMT
I remember somebody tried to mod minecraft into an Ocarina of Time clone.
My point is that not even OoT can make minecraft enjoyable.
Reply by Rockymoo Jul 29 2013 03:06 GMT
Well hopefully an API, scripting, and LGPL will eventually result in something new.
Reply by Francis Jul 29 2013 03:06 GMT
If you're going to put that much effort into making something worthwhile, why use minecraft of all games as a base? They're only giving themselves a handicap.
Reply by Rockymoo Jul 29 2013 03:09 GMT
If this thing is supposedly better than Minecraft, then why does it have the same shitty graphics? I'm not talking about the blocks. This game uses the same exact textures. Honestly from this image and what youre describing it just sounds like the same exact game but with some extra things.

Minecraft is reasonably entertaining when you approach it without any preconceptions. It's not the best game ever, but I find it to be a decent timewaster on-and-off. The problems arise when people either expect or claim it to be greater than it truly is; the former in that the game appears sub-standard (potentially due to the status the latter group has affixed to the title), and the latter in that the community tends to consider Minecraft to be the greatest and/or only sandbox construction/survival game to date, which then proceeds to aggravate non-fans.

I was addicted to Minecraft once upon a time....but then I stopped playing it.
