So, Dave Filoni, director of some episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender and full-out director of Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie and TV series, came to visit my campus today. Two of my friends decided to buy action figures to sign. Me, being the poor art student, decided to have him sign the inside cover of my new sketchbook. Turns out all my friends got were autographs and a quick little doodle of Rex from The Clone Wars, and I got this:

Yeah, as soon as I get home I'm framing it. It's on the inside front cover, and it's hardcover, so it's gonna last for a long time. :D

I dunno why he did that huge drawing. He was just giving out little autographs to people, and he decided to take time for mine. Some guy from my college told Dave he had an interview to go to, but he was silenced as the drawing was completed. I felt honored since he actually turned down an interview to draw me some characters even though I only asked for a simple signing.

Oh, that reminds me, I got a bunch of signed photos of well known rally drivers from my uncle when I was 14.
I'll have to dig them out sometime and scan them.

He saw somethin' special in you boy. You remember that now. One day you're gonna be somebody.
Or it was just pity.

I mentioned I was from the same hometown as one of his best friends. Har har, it pays off living in the middle of nowhere, I guess.

Gay. No one important ever came out of my town. We even have one of the top 50 schools in the state. Probably because most of the people here are such a *crag*ing bore. I swear to god I'm pretty sure this is what schools in the 60's were like except with worse teaching policies.

However, we did invent the radar gun. So next time you get a speeding ticket, you know who to thank.

I have a baseball signed by the cardinals, does that count as something cool?
Reply by Super-Claus Nov 24 2009 13:27 GMT
Well, it depends on what year the team was from, and if you like the Cardinals. I have a mounted plaque on my one wall with a card signed by Mickey Mantle.
