Coming from a USGamer interview with creator Kiyoshi Sakai...

"I was the main programmer [on the original]. I also came up with the actual game design, the concept, as well, and I’ve been directing the games. With Shun and also Sayonara, my involvement was the same as with the first Umihara Kawase. I did most of the programming and was the director of both games. The team capacity kind of shrank over time. With Shun, the team size was right about the same as the Super Famicom version. However, with Sayonara, the team shrank down to almost half that size. There was only one programmer and two designers on the game."

Sakai also discussed the possibility for the series to continue after it's most recent 3DS entry.

"I’m not sure if there’s a future for the series. I feel like I’d be okay either way, if it went on or if it has to end here. I don’t have any regrets about the series. I’ve done everything I wanted to do with it. At this point, I don’t feel like, 'Oh, I have to make another game to accomplish this or that.'"

A portion of a 4cr interview with developer Donn Manalili...

4cr: Is a port to next gen consoles (Wii U, PS4, XBO) something you’ve considered, or will you focus entirely on having You Are Not The Hero released on PC (and Mac and Linux if the stretch goal for that is reached)?

DM: We want to focus on the PC and other OS ports first before we think about porting to consoles. Of course, consoles ports would be absolutely amazing and if we’re able to do that then we will. it’s a matter of funding, time, and engine capability. At this point, all three of those are questionable.

If there's one thing we need more of in the game industry, it's snark. Thankfully we have Wired to give us just that. Yes, I am being snarky in a post complaining about snark. Thanks to Kolma for the heads up!

This is a portion of an IGN review for Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut on Wii U...

Deus Ex Human Revolution - Director's Cut had an unenviable task: take one of 2011's best games and make it even better, all while figuring out how to best utilize the oft-ignored GamePad. It succeeded on all fronts. The included DLC, the slick GamePad features, and the reworked boss fights make this the definitive version of Jensen's story. Though, if you've already seen what the original game has to offer, there aren't enough substantial differences to warrant a second purchase.

This comes from a Siliconera interview with Yasuhiro Wada...

''The iOS version does not have episodes with other villagers, players just run a shop. You get new items, you can save money, you can sell rare items on iOS too. Eventually, you will get new customers, but that's pretty much all you can do. The core system of running the shop is the same on 3DS, but you will get to interact with the villagers and involved with their story. "It's not because of technical limitations. I made the mobile version to be a pick up and play, to reach out to more people. If both versions have the same content, I don't think the iOS version can be priced at $29.99, I don't think there is anybody who will be that kind of game. That's why I made the iOS version more compact with the essence of the game. Eventually, there will be in-app purchases. There will be rare items and villagers, but no story episodes. If you want to play even more there is the 3DS version.''

- The previous damage limit was set at 9,999 damage, this time we'll get to dish out higher damage that ranges into the five digit figures.
- One of the major new features that will be in the game is the Bravely Second, which allows one to pause time in the middle of battles, by using SP, and attack their opponents.
- SP will accumulate while your 3DS is in sleep mode, which will give you one SP point every eight hours.
- While you can collect two to three SP a day, you'll also be able to purchase SP Drinks from the Nintendo eShop, that immediately gives you three SP points.
- Asano:"While we can't change the game's characteristics, we also can't just make it more difficult, so I decided to put in a simple idea. I'd like to think of the Brave & Default system as a fun way to control turns, and I think Bravely Second will bring a fun way to deviate from the turn."
- Asano on balance issues: "Bravely Second isn't a de-merit, but a system that gives players an advantage. It's convenient, and very powerful. With that said, since it requires putting the Nintendo 3DS in sleep-mode to accumulate SP, players will most likely only be able to use it twice or three times a day. I expect people to use it after asking themselves 'should I use that trump card?' While it will be balanced in its own way, Bravely Default always had the Friend Summon and Ability Link features, so there aren't any strict balances. I believe that's one of Bravely Default's charms that makes it enjoyable [laughs]."
- On why this was included as DLC: '"There's a chance that all the players could end up disliking it, so we really put a lot of thought into this one. With that in mind, the reason we decided to go through with the plan is because of our wish to have as many people possible beat the game. Some players might want to continue with the story but might not be able to beat the boss no matter how hard they try, and eventually give up on the game, which is the last thing we'd want. It's for this reason that we also included the difficulty and encounter rate adjustments. Ultimately, it will be an item that will allow you to beat bosses, simply by drinking it--although we didn't make it into some item that's like a 'bomb that instantly blows up bosses' because we still want you to have fun with the game. Just to be clear, the game will allow you to still use the Bravely Second up to two or three times a day, without having to purchase SP Drinks."
- On the cost of the drinks: "We're actually still in the brainstorming stage for that. If it's too cheap, then players will get to use it as much as they want, and that would ruin the balance. I think it'd be good to have a price that stays true to the value of a special trump card."
