How to Survive: 505 Games accused of ‘blatant theft’ of indie dev’s game
The team behind indie survival sim Roam has accused 505 Games of ‘blatant theft’ of its product, producing an alleged offer of publication pre-dating the announcement of How to Survive, which it claims bears uncanny similarities.

In a Kickstarter update, creator Ryan Sharr described himself as acting as a “whistleblower”, alleging Roam and How to Survive have comparable gameplay mechanics and “a shockingly similar art style”.

That's how things started out, but now the indie dev has gone through with another Kickstarter update detailing how all of this was a big misunderstanding.

On Wednesday, October 30, before market open in the west, Nintendo will report Q2:14 (September) results. It will not hold a Financial Results Briefing. - Michael Pachter

We'll still get the financial results, but it looks like Nintendo isn't going to hold a traditional financial briefing. No reason for this decision was given. It's also worth noting that Pachter said this last time, but a briefing did turn up.

Q: I was wondering on something about Abe. Abe is able to possess a Slig’s or Glukkon’s or Paramite’s or Scrab’s body with chant, that’s clear. But what happens if Abe is killed while his soul is in one of the bodies? Is he trapped then in that body forever?! I’m asking this because while chanting I saw those pretty little lights around Abe, and I’m not sure if it’s his spiritual power’s appearance or it’s Abe’s soul.

A: Dead is dead. So if his body’s found and someone kills Abe, he’s a goner—soul in another body or not. Otherwise, anytime he’s about to get 86’d, he could just possess someone near him and just carry on, you know? But wait…why are you so curious? Are you planning something? Did you already DO something?? I need to make a phone call… Make sure this guy I know is doin’ ok…

Q: Talking about chanting, are the other Mudokons able to chant like Abe? If so, can they possess other beings just like he does, or there are other levels of this chanting ability – besides possessing another creature?

A: Pretty much all Mudokons can chant. We’re pretty cool, eh? Possession on the other hand is a fine skill that shamans practice their whole lives to be able to hone and refine. Abe’s a wonder-mudokon, though, and picked it up in a snap. He’s a natural.

Coming from Adrian Goersch, Managing Director of Black Forest Games...

“That’s our way to celebrate Halloween with all the Giana Sisters fans out there. Knowing that the question will be raised: Since there is an extensive submission process required for consoles, we are currently not working on bringing the DLC to PSN, XBLA or WiiU. For all those playing Giana on console: there are several things planned for 2014.”

Coming from and Enjoy Gaming rep...

It was removed due to an error in the ESRB rating embedded in the code. ESRB re rated the game as Teen with descriptors and Nintendo took the product out of eShop because the parental controls were then wrong. The code has now been altered and resubmitted to Nintendo for their normal checks before it will be re released on eShop in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest. I hope this answered your question.

Thanks to Julia for the heads up!

For those asking… Yes the AC4 multiplayer servers are up and running. To make things fair though we will reset the Ladders at launch!

— Tim Browne (@N1tch) October 26, 2013

@AC_beewood we won’t reset gained levels as that is unfair on people who legitimately bought the game. Those in the wrong are the retailers

— Tim Browne (@N1tch) October 26, 2013

The players currently playing haven’t done anything wrong. Retailers have sent out copies early and we don’t believe in punishing innocent

Coming from an OXM interview with director Motomu Toriyama and gameplay director Yuji Abe...

"Obviously, Square Enix bought out Eidos a number of years ago, and now we have direct access to American development teams. That's certainly been discussed within the company, the possibility of say, Eidos or maybe someone else to look after or maybe take on the Final Fantasy series. And we obviously haven't decided anything concrete, but if we find the right team of developers, the right people who really wanted to do it, and we had the right game, then yes, certainly we'd think about it." - Abe
"The whole thing about the Final Fantasy series is that for every iteration, for every game we do, we have a very different game. So the development team is also different very time, so that there's different ideas and different concepts driving it. So obviously within that framework, having a very different type of team could work. So if we got the right team of people, it could produce something very interesting in the end." - Toriyama
