Looks like the 2DS might be on its way to success in the UK. When retailers dropped the price to just below £100, sales of the device shot up shot up 64 per cent week-on-week. Even better, the 2DS was the best selling hardware of the week, and that doesn't include combined sales with 3DS/3DS XL!

OOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhh how I love when Nintendo does this stuff! We saw it happen with Skyward Sword, and now we're seeing it with A Link Between Worlds. Looks like we have a case of the backwards Hyrule Castle theme from A Link to the Past!

We've had two game show-related posts on GN in the last 24 hours. I'm a HUGE game show fan, so this pleases me! Also, just incase you're interested, Pat Sajak is funny as hell on Twitter. Worth a follow, if you ask me! Thanks to Mike for the heads up!

Man, I guess I'll post this one after the jump just to avoid anyone getting offended. It's not graphic or anything like that. It's just a little questionable, I guess!

If you were wondering where IronFall's trailer was this week, we have some info on that. VD-Dev has confirmed that they're “adding some features” to the trailer, which will feature real-time game footage.

Our friend Tilmen provides some photographic evidence...

4: here is another pic showing how Ubisoft replaced that black slave in #AC4BlackFlag ...only in that scene btw pic.twitter.com/6wqyNkLbMA

— NiNTENDOMiNATiON (@TiLMEN) November 1, 2013

Obviously Tilmen has played at least the Wii U version, but this seems to be a change in all US versions. Doesn't look like a lighting change here. Looks more like a race swap from black to white. Certainly an interesting find, if true. I wonder what the reasoning behind it is.

Thank you for your support.

Nintendo has learned that some consumers, including minors, have been exchanging their friend codes on Internet bulletin boards and then using Swapnote (known as Nintendo Letter Box in other regions) to exchange offensive material. Nintendo has been investigating ways of preventing this and determined it is best to stop the SpotPass feature of Swapnote because it allows direct exchange of photos and was actively misused.

Nintendo always wants to provide a positive experience for all consumers and limit the risk of any inappropriate activity or misuse of a service. We feel it is important on this occasion to take this action.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience to the many consumers who have been using this service responsibly; however this decision was made considering the point that many minors also use this feature of Swapnote. Thank you for your understanding.

Nintendo will continue to work to ensure more consumers are aware of our Parental Control features, which allow parents to manage their children's experience on our systems. For more information, please click here.

Service stop date: Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, 7 p.m. PT
Service being stopped: Nintendo 3DS software Swapnote - Sending and receiving notes using SpotPass
Affected regions: All regions where the service was offered
Special Notes services are also stopped

A portion of a Dromble interview with Maestro's Monty Goulet...

D: In early September, Percy’s Predicament had been submitted to lot check in early September and was awaiting approval. Now that it’s late October, could you give us an update on the game’s release? Is it still coming this fall?

MG: Absolutely, it is still coming out this fall as we want it available for the holiday season. We simply have marketing stuff we want all in place before it comes out. (Trailers, Screenshots, Website, Soundtrack, etc.) We will be announcing in the next couple of weeks the actual release date for Percy’s Predicament, which is still at this time “Fall 2013” as everything went well.

D: What is Maestro Interactive’s next project after Percy’s Predicament? Can you tell us about your plans for 2014 in relation to Wii U?

MG: We have learned some interesting things about gameplay thanks to the Wii U. With the GamePad, we can explore asynchronous gameplay in a way that we have not been able to on a console before, particularly right out of the box. Sony and Microsoft are incorporating it with Vita and SmartGlass but that requires the consumer to get something more, Wii U provides it for instant gratification. We believe in Nintendo. Nintendo is a company that has proven in the last 30 years that they are able to fascinate tens of millions of gamers. Nintendo is a great game creator; they are magic to a lot of gamers. And we’ve had a lot of great experiences with Nintendo in the past, gaming wise, and work wise.

In 2014, we look forward to giving gamers even more eShop titles. We have already have Cosmic Highway nearing completion and we have another title as well that is being conceptualized currently. Be sure to follow our Twitter and Facebook for more as we will be putting up Cosmic Highway videos on a regular basis, and we will be testing our next title very shortly. In the meantime, here is a piece of concept art from the upcoming unannounced title.
