Here we are, almost a full year after the Wii U launch and we're still talking specs. I know that some people still get a kick out of this stuff, so it's my pleasure to share.

Rumor has it that the Wii U may have had some beefier specs while in development, but Nintendo decided to downgrade the hardware due to overheating issues with the dev kits. Did Nintendo decide to go smaller and less powerful because of this? Hit up the thread below to see the speculation.

A bit more info coming from today's sales information...

Wii Party U sold 80k but only 44% sell-through suggests plenty still on the shelves, MH4 did another 47k to take total to 3.02m

— David Gibson (@gibbogame) November 7, 2013

BUT WiiU hardware sold 40k up from 3k the week before as a result of the price cut, thats the highest weekly rate since 1st week of Jan

This is part of a Mario & Sonic Sochi 2014 review from Metro...

The worst Mario & Sonic game yet and not just a waste of a crossover but a genuinely poor mini-game compilation, and one that makes both the Wii U and the GamePad look bad.

Wednesday has arrived, bringing NintenDaan with it once again. You'll be spending some time with that wonderful gent, as he's taking over the site from now until around 10 PM East Coast. That's when I shuffle back to command central and send Daan off for some shut-eye. Enjoy your time with the one and only Daan while you can!

“Project CARS has always led the pack in terms of insane detail. Whether that’s graphically in the craftsmanship of our cars and tracks, technically in the way we’ve approached weather and time of day, or emotionally in how each car feels and responds to your touch. These powerful new platforms allow us therefore to not compromise on the quality of our vision and ultimately that means players are going to experience something truly breathtaking when they get behind the wheel.” - Ian Bell, Head Of Studio

Project CARS will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam OS, PC, and Wii U starting Fall 2014.

A portion of a Siliconera review...

I know that I don’t love it. There are too many things that nag at me each time I play. I don’t hate it either though, because I ended up clocking 27 hours and 18 minutes between the start of this article and now. It’s like playing Hometown Story leaves you in a sort of limbo.

Coming from a Dtoid interview...

On their specific roles on Super Mario 3D World

Mahito Yokota: I was the sound director and main composer. Outside of Koji Kondo, the other composers were Toru Minegishi and Yasuaki Iwata.

Koji Kondo: I worked on two tracks for the athletic and seaside courses.

On whether we'll be hearing arrangements from Super Mario World

Mahito Yokota: Sadly, there isn't any remixed music from Super Mario World. However, this is a game where you take control of four characters, each with different abilities. Does that remind you of Mario 2 at all? You might just find some musical rearrangements from that game here.

A message to Mario music fans as they play through Super Mario 3D World

Mahito Yokota: We've changed our musical aims here from the Mario Galaxy series, but I'd like to know what you think about this kind of Mario sound. It's the first multiplayer 3D Mario game, so hopefully you'll be enjoying this music while having a blast with your friends.

Koji Kondo: There are a lot of fun tracks here, a good match for all the variety in the stages and all the new ways to play. It's a new soundtrack for the Mario series, a lavish one with some live performances, and I hope you can enjoy it with family and friends as you play on a big screen.
