Disney Interactive's year-over-year Q4 revenue increased more than 100 percent to $396 million, thanks in part to the release of the real-life toy/video game hybrid product Disney Infinity.

The Interactive division's change represents a $205 million increase, up from $191 million in Q4 2012 to $396 million in Q4 2013, according to The Walt Disney Company's earnings report for the fourth quarter and fiscal year that ended Sept. 28, 2013.

Coming from a Retro Gamer interview with Phil Tossell...

"I think we were handed a poisoned chalice. We were being asked to make the games we'd always made for an audience that didn't want those sort of games. The reason we did Black Widow, Crackdown and aged up Kameo was because we were trying to bridge that gap but Microsoft wouldn't let us.

Please note that this has nothing to do with a new game in the series. It will most likely be some sort of fan-related merchandise.

A Texas federal judge on Thursday granted Nintendo Co. Ltd.’s motion for summary judgment of noninfringement of one patent claim in an ongoing lawsuit claiming the Japanese video game giant's popular Wii gaming system ripped off two patents for wireless display controllers.

The decision comes after Nintendo succeeded in invalidating some claims of UltimatePointer LLC's two patents when the court ruled in May they were indefinite but denied Nintendo’s motion for summary judgment for the rest of the asserted claims. UltimatePointer filed two suits against Nintendo.

Looks like Aksys is going to start gearing up for more visual novel releases. We know that another Zero Escape game is in the works, but that won't be seeing release for quite some time. While we wait for that, Aksys wants to know what you think of the genre in general.

Welcome to the visual novel and Zero Escape series survey! Be sure to fill out all the questions truthfully or you may just wake up on a sinking ship! Even if you've never played the series or a visual novel game, we'd love to hear from you anyway!

Zero Escape is a visual novel/puzzle game series first brought to fans on the Nintendo DS, with the sequel featured on the Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita. Aksys Games would like to hear from you regarding visual novels in general and your thoughts about one of our most successful series!

I'd provide a link to the survey, but the address is unique for each person it's sent to. If you're an Aksys fan and have registered some content with them, be on the lookout for a survey in your inbox!

UPDATE - Here's a link for everyone!

Have a minute? Take our #ZeroEscape/#VisualNovel survey! Of course it's fun! http://t.co/8253mc0JyP

Coming from Sakurai's bi-weekly installment in Famitsu...

"My office hours are up to me. So long as I complete the new Smash Bros., I could show up only once a week, or only at night, or even telecommute if I wanted to."

- Sakurai still shows up for work at 10AM every day
- nothing goes into Smash Bros. without his approval

"It's just as important to check the specifications behind the development of things like graphics, sound, motions, characters, stages, game modes, and UI, not just the products themselves."

The following info comes from Bravely Default producer Tomoya Asano...

- fight Final Fantasy: The Four Heroes of Light bosses by acquiring them through Wi-Fi
- they'll appear as an invasion of Norende Village
- you can also acquire these monsters through StreetPassing with other players who already have them
- tweaked difficulty and encounter rate adjustments make for a game that can be enjoyed while relaxing
- for those that feel the game offers too many jobs and abilities but not enough challenges, these bosses were thrown in

On powerful bosses in the sequel

“Since they’re monsters you’ll be getting as content from outside the game, we’re currently thinking about how strong they should be. We’re thinking about having their strength match the current progress of the player. In the end, we plan on having monsters who are even stronger than the ‘Adventurers’.”

On why Final Fantasy: The Four Heroes of Light bosses are included

“There are many parts of the artwork that are similar, so I thought it’d be a great match. However, there won’t be any related settings between the two worlds… at least for now.”

If more monsters will be revealed

“Hmm yes, we’re currently thinking of a schedule to add more [bosses] even after the release of the game, so players will be able to continue enjoying the game afterwards. Please look forward to it!”
