A portion of a USGamer review...

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures hardly does justice to the hungry fella's legacy, but it may prove to be an adequate diversion for younger players, particularly if they enjoy the show.

On the change in opinion of Toon Link and how it lead to Wind Waker HD

"Our first reaction was that we really wanted to know why this had changed. In this case, when we thought about why this reaction change occurred, we realize there's mainly two factors. One is that, at the time when we first released Toon Link, the art style was a huge change to previous games, and users are often scared of this change--or at least people react in a big way if something changes and doesn't change to what they expect.

I personally like Toon Link, so after Wind Waker we created Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks with the new artwork style. As we did that, then new users joined the franchise and the recognition of Toon Link became widely accepted. This is also one factor why Wind Waker has been remade."

On the uniqueness of the art style

"This artwork style of Toon Link, we thought this would be the same sort of style used in a lot of other games. But it didn't really get used. Even though it's not brand new now, it's still something that's unique, and the specialness has not been taken away. That's another reason why we could release The Wind Waker [HD in 2013], because it's recognized but has remained unique."

On how the change in opinion helped the devs

"We were supported and got more confidence from that, so it was a really pleasing experience for us to create the game."

On his favorite moments in Wind Waker

"I was writing cutscene scripts, so people could design it how I wanted it, and one really important part of the cutscenes is when Aryll gets taken away. It's really where the adventure begins, because Link then starts off on this journey. I really enjoy that as one of my favorite moments of playing the game.

This scene where you have to hide and then you plan to get sent over in the barrel is something that's quite exciting, and really one of my favorite scenes. I think it's really important how the user feels connected to Link, his behavior and his actions, because as you play you get better at playing the game. Link himself also evolves, and becomes better. This connection is something that's really important in the game.

The (Wind temple) boss when he comes out of the sand, the background music to that particular scene is really exciting for me, so this is really a moment that I cherish as one of my favorites."

On Zelda titles not being held back by budget or other restrictions

"I usually get instruction from Miyamoto-san to create a new Zelda game, and then what I need to do is to state roughly an estimation of budget and the staff numbers we'd need in order to create such a game. In our case, we don't often experience budget constraints, it's more that we need to negotiate how much budget and stuff we need in order to create the game which we're aiming to achieve. So that's probably a different situation than some other development teams."

“Since they’re monsters you’ll be getting as content from outside the game, we’re currently thinking about how strong they should be. We’re thinking about having their strength match the current progress of the player. In the end, we plan on having monsters who are even stronger than the ‘Adventurers’.” - producer Tomoya Asano

- Mammon has an attack that drains brave points (BP)
- Lucifer has strong attacks that can hit the whole party
- these include the sword swipe attack the Iron Gian
- Lucifer also has powerful magic spells like Aeroja and a powerful physical counter attack called Another Face
- this move can hit for 9,999 damage
- Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light bosses aren't regular encounters
- all three will enter your game through the Internet and attack a town

WonderFlick is eventually going to head to Wii U, but what if you want to play the game now? We have some good news for those of you that have access to the Japanese versions. Level-5 has confirmed that the game supports cross-platform saves, so you can start your game on iPhone and continue on Wii U when that version launches. Now if we could only see some confirmation of release in the states!

The Wii U isn't doing so hot, but Wii U owners in the UK clearly want nothing to do with Call of Duty: Ghosts. The title managed to take the number 1 spot on the UK charts this week, but the Wii U version accounts for less than 1% of total sales, and that's when it's coupled with PC sales.

We haven't heard any official information from Activision and I doubt we will. According to MCV, Call of Duty: Ghosts has sold about 50% less than last year's Call of Duty game in the same amount of time. This info is said to come from various retailers in the UK.

“I am just astounded year after year after year how retail supports Call of Duty, and Activision. It is a tough time for retail at the moment, but it is also an exciting time with the next-gen of consoles. I feel retail has an integral role to play in games and moving gaming forward and I am sure they will come through the other side. Call of Duty is one of the biggest entertainment franchises. It rivals any Hollywood blockbuster and we should celebrate that.” - Activision UK MD Roy Stackhouse

Gamers looking to try something new may just find this gem will become their favourite book on the 3DS, but those looking for an adventure wherein they can make meaningful choices may find themselves disappointed in Hakuoki’s rigid structure.

Wondering how much of a challenge Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is going to be? I would think that it would sit among the tougher entries that land on Wii U. According to Nintendo of Canada's Matt Ryan, Retro's latest offering is actually easier than New Super Luigi U. I didn't find that game to be all that tough, but perhaps I'm wrong!

Coming from a GamesIndustry interview with Square-Enix NA/EU CEO, Phil Rogers...

"There's lots of talk in the industry about games becoming services - to be honest, as an expression this doesn't always resonate with people, especially gamers. For us online is a way to facilitate how we're looking at the word service to build on a game. So we're focusing on regular content updates, engaging gameplay mechanics, replayability and deep community."
