Japan's Nikkei index scaled a new six-month peak for a second straight session thanks to continued yen weakness.

Dollar-yen crossed the 101 handle to a four-and-a-half-month high, boosting consumer electronic exporters across the board. Sharp led gains by 3 percent while Panasonic and Nintendo rose over 2 percent each.

A portion of a NWR review...

Despite the presentation issues, I thoroughly enjoyed the actual puzzle part of the game. Unfortunately the game only lasts a couple hours, so it’s definitely a tough recommendation if you’re looking for something that’ll keep you occupied for a few days. If you’re a fan of physics-based puzzle games, you can do far worse than Ohno Odyssey. Just don’t go in expecting an odyssey on the scale of Homer’s.

Coming from a NintendoEnthusiast interview with Hugo Smitts...

NE: When will the game be set to release, and what price are you speculating the game to be at?

HS: We aim to be cheaper than most puzzle games. But I cannot make an official statement at this time about the price or release date (mainly because the game hasn’t passed lotcheck and I have no clue on how long that will take).

After some serious discussions with Nintendo, we are extremely happy to announce that we can include the Wii U port as a Stretch Goal!

We know that many of you were eagerly waiting for it so we've made it an early Stretch Goal to get to it more easily; the Wii U port will be available if we hit 25 000$. Tell your friends!

If you are interesting in playing The Girl and the Robot on your Wii U, consider increasing your pledge to 25$ or above for the extra Wii U copy of the game. That pledge also includes Eiko's amazingly beautiful soundtrack for the game and also your name in the credits (where it should be!).

Thanks to Eclips3 for the heads up!

Currently working on a new boss battle planet. Getting that difficulty and flow done right can be a challenge.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is one of the few games that would be infinitely better without a campaign mode. While the multiplayer is just more of what we’ve seen in previous entries, it is at least fun to play. The campaign, however, offers little more than frustration with its hordes of enemies and overly scripted nature. Infinity Ward would have been better off allocating more time and money to the multiplayer.

A portion of a 4cr interview with dev Oded Sharon...

4cr: Have you considered releasing the game on consoles (Wii U, PS4, XBO)?

OS: Of course! It makes our production a bit more expensive because you need to first get the console dev kits, go through each of the platforms’ bureaucracy to register as a developer, and then spend engineering hours porting the game, but we want to have the game available on all of them.

Jett Rocket II is a solid game that offers a lot in a seemingly small package. There is a reasonable level of difficulty to keep proficient gamers occupied, but little bonuses to aid less adept players along the way.

PORT WASHINGTON, NEW YORK, November 21, 2013 – According to the Q3 2013 Games Market Dynamics: U.S.* report from global information company, The NPD Group, in addition to the $1.30 billion spent in the U.S. by consumers on new physical video and PC game software during the third quarter (July - September) of 2013 (Q3'13), the total consumer spend on other physical forms of content (used and rental) reached $436 million, and content in digital format (full game and add-on content downloads, subscriptions, mobile games and social network games) generated $1.72 billion.

The third quarter of 2013 experienced double-digit growth in content spending, stemming from a 20 percent increase in spending for new physical games coupled with a 35 percent growth in digital full games and downloadable content (DLC). These two acquisition types combined to create a total of close to $1.98 billion in consumer content spending versus $1.59 billion generated in Q3'12. Total content spending experienced an increase of 17 percent.

While new physical games, digital full games, and DLC were major drivers of the volume of this quarter's increase, all other areas of content spending also increased with the exception of social network gaming which continued to decline.

"Trends during the third quarter were the best that we have observed since the second quarter of 2011, driven by growth across both the physical and digital sides of the video game industry," said Liam Callahan, industry analyst. "The launch of Grand Theft Auto V helped propel the new physical sales by twenty percent and continued growth of console digital full games as well as downloadable add-on content is an indication of the renewed health of the industry. We expect that the launches of Microsoft's Xbox One and the Sony PS4 will continue to fuel consumer excitement and spending for games heading into the holiday season."

A tired and lacklustre end to a great year for 3DS, Island Tour is one of the most tedious parties you could ever attend.

+ A clutch of fun minigames
+ Download play

- Flat presentation
- Weak unlockables
- Repetitive and dull
