Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is 10 percent off on Steam until August 21, which also happens to be the game's release date. The game is currently $13.49, instead of the standard $15, which is what it'll be at launch on PC, Mac, PS3 and Xbox 360 (where it'll be 1200 MS Points)

Since the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive software development kit, launching a few months after the game, isn't likely to play nice with consoles, it may be best to get the game on PC. Stretch that investment as far as it'll go.

[Thanks, Dero]

During PAX East we told you that AirMech, the hardcore hybrid RTS from Carbon Games, would be available on Steam, in beta form, this summer. We have to take a second to thank Carbon Games for not making liars out of us. Thanks, Carbon.

The AirMech beta is now live on Steam, accessible by buying the "Beta Bundle" for $20. The final game will be free-to-play, but the Beta Bundle offers oodles of perks, including all of the AirMech classes and units, lifetime silver VIP and a beta-exclusive bomber.

The Chrome version of AirMech has been open for beta testing since February, and still is via the official Carbon Games website. More than 250,000 players have tried out AirMech in browser form, but the Steam version adds some flair, such as 86 Steam Achievements and the ability to invite friends directly to play games.

Remedy Entertainment has finally launched the PC version of its Death Rally remake on Steam, available at a 15% discount until next Friday, bringing the price down to $8.49. Death Rally first debuted on PC in 1996 before being reborn for iOS devices in 2011 and on Android earlier this year.

There's also a new trailer, which we've posted above. We wouldn't take the closing tag line "This is no Sunday drive" to heart, though. We've played the mobile version of Death Rally on Sunday plenty of times and everything seemed to work out fine.

The devious developers behind Awesomenauts seem to have hidden an adorable mini-game within the files of its recent Steam release, tipsters discovered. Deep within the folders of the PC release is ROFLnauts, a retro, Smash Bros.-style brawler from Super Crate Box designer Jan Willem Nijman and artist Paul Veer.

Accessing the bonus is simple: go to the "SteamApps" directory within the Steam folder on your hard drive. Click through the folder labeled "Common" to find the Awesomenauts directory. ROFLnauts can be found within the Data folder. A few clicks later and you've got your hands on a cute, combative bonus game.

[Thanks, Patrick]

Dishonored is being shown off this weekend at QuakeCon 2012, and if you can't make it down to Texas, here's the next best thing: Load up the gallery below, and flick through the pictures really quickly. All right, that won't work, but at least you'll get to see some brand-new (and creepy) screens from the much-anticipated game.

QuakeCon's also brought a pre-order bonus for Arkane Studios' latest - if you pre-purchase the game on Steam between now and the end of QuakeCon on August 5, you'll get access to Arkane's previous first-person RPG, Arx Fatalis, for no extra charge. Just take your time with that one: Dishonored won't be out until October 8.

During QuakeCon, Bethesda announced the release date for the PC version of the Skyrim "Dawnguard" DLC, which lets you fight and/or become a vampire. Said release date is ... today!

The DLC will be available on Steam today in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish, for $19.99, Bethesday says. And wouldn't you know it - Skyrim itself is on sale today, for $29.99! It's also available as part of a massive "QuakeCon bundle."

The PS3 version is not out today. "We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard's performance on the PS3," a representative wrote in an update on the Bethesda blog today. The rep did not offer an estimated time frame on the release, expressing the company's disappointment at not being able to provide all Skyrim content to all platforms at the same time.
