Klei Entertainment's Mark of the Ninja is now live on Steam, completely in the open and totally unguarded against online purchases of $14.99. As for the trailer, it certainly isn't helping the 2D stealth game stay undetected.

Incidentally, Klei isn't resting its laurels after sending Mark of the Ninja on its way. The developer's next project is Don't Starve, described as "an uncompromising wilderness survival game full of science and magic." So, a bit like Half-Life 2 then? Oh wait, we've just seen the video, never mind.

#monaco Monaco is the top-down multiplayer co-op heist game we rave about here from time to time. Finally, it seems like we're close to knowing when it will come out. What we at least know today, thanks to the game's creator Andy Schatz, is that it will be coming to Xbox Live Arcade, through publisher Majesco, on the same day he'll release it independently onto Steam for PC and Mac. For years, Pocketwatch Games' multiplayer heist-action game Monaco has been a hit at trade shows, award ceremonies and Joystiq parties. Now, Joystiq can exclusively reveal that it's going to be playable in your very own home on XBLA and Steam (for both Mac and PC).

There's no release date, but the self-published PC version will be released simultaneously with the Majesco-published XBLA release - Pocketwatch isn't sure if the Mac version will be day-and-date, but "we're doing our best."

"Monaco was originally designed to be played with four friends on the couch, all planning and executing a heist together," designer Andy Schatz said. Pocketwatch has added four-player online co-op to all the versions, in addition to the couch-based co-op and the single player ("the stealthiest version," Schatz calls it.) The XBLA release facilitates the authentic couch multiplayer by putting the game on a couch-friendly console. Schatz said that he met with Majesco at PAX East and "the stars aligned."

-Increased the amount of castle damage required to fill A.R.G. from 4850 to 12000.
-Berserking units not longer gain a speed boost.
-You castle now takes 10% less damage for every unit berserking. This stacks, so if 10 or more of your units are berserking, your castle will be invulnerable.

Everyone, it’s OK. You can calm down now. Put away your finely honed rioting tools and carefully calibrated bludgeoning instruments. Octodad: Dadliest Catch, you see, finally got the Greenlight go-ahead to haphazardly fling itself in Steam’s general direction. After flopping and flailing about in hilarious frustration for 30 or so minutes, it also managed to affix 20 other games to its tentacles – which it will now nonchalantly drag onto the storefront with it. Or maybe they were just greenlit the normal way as well, but this is how I choose to interpret the information I’ve been given.

To celebrate its tenth anniversary, InXile Entertainment has dropped prices on its games Bard's Tale and Choplifter HD by 75% on Steam. In addition, the satirical RPG Bard's Tale has been updated to bundle in the 1985 Bard's Tale game and its two sequels. That's a lot of light-hearted role-playing for $2.50.

Greenlight has curated its second batch of indie games worthy of launching on Steam, and instead of the 10 we expected, this round sees 21 new titles. Greenlit games include AirBuccaneers, Forge, Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, Octodad: Dadliest Catch and The Stanley Parable: HD Remix.

"This second wave of titles was originally targeted to include at least 10 titles," Valve writes. "Given the number and quality of games submitted, and the ship date of many of the top-ranking titles, the decision was made to increase the size of this group."

These 21 games join the 10 previously greenlit titles; of those, only McPixel has launched on Steam so far. In September, Steam had more than 2,000 games to sort through on Greenlight, with 800 live for public voting. The Greenlight system is far from perfect for some indie developers, but Steam may still be refining its system, if the increased number of greenlit games is any indication.

Second Set Twice the Size of the First

October 15, 2012 -- Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Counter-Strike, Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, Portal, and Team Fortress) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the second set of titles proceeding to worldwide distribution opportunities through Steam Greenlight.

This second wave of titles was originally targeted to include at least 10 titles. Given the number and quality of games submitted, and the ship date of many of the top-ranking titles, the decision was made to increase the size of this group. (See full list below.)

Steam Greenlight is a new platform feature that enlists the community's help in selecting some of the next games to be released on Steam. - Natural Born Leader ability displays no description for ability in tooltip. Instead Title is displayed twice.
- Using the Sun Crusader's "Sun Steed" ability will cause an existent "Guardian Angel" effect to disappear from the unit.
- The Centaur's "Vigilant Scout" special attribute is not used when the enemy creature is at two or less squares away from the Centaur.

- Added mesh simplification tool (Ctrl+Shift+C) in mesh editor. It can be used to automatically create LODs or generally simplify meshes.

- Find entities dialog now has an "Extensive resource search" button. Entities which in any way reference a resource whose file name matches the search expression will be selected. Note that this is very slow and can take a few minutes on production size levels.

- Fixed an issue where third person weapon tool would remain visible after switching to hands weapon to show sirian bracelet.
