Source Filmmaker version 0.9.5.16 has been released. This update will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

More Game Titles, First Software Titles Expected

Oct 31, 2012 Valve today revealed November 30th as the target date for announcing the next set of titles to launch via Steam Greenlight.

Given current voting, at least 10 more game titles are expected to be offered worldwide distribution agreements via Steam.

In addition, Valve hopes to announce Greenlights first graduating class of Software titles, with at least five Software titles targeted for inclusion in the group to be announced Nov 30th.

Steam Greenlight is a new platform feature that enlists the communitys help in selecting some of the next games to be released on Steam. Launched on August 30, Greenlight allows developers and publishers to post information and media about their game in an effort to convince Community members that their game should be released on Steam.

Orcs Must Die! 2 is getting a third booster pack this Thursday, November 1 for $4.99. Puntastically titled 'Are We There Yeti?', it introduces three icy levels along with new enemies, costumes, and Endless Mode conversions. An extra trinket, trap, and weapon are also bundled in.

Halloween Special
The nightmare isnt over! For Halloween, Black Forest Games revisits one of the levels from Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams. Based on the Enchanted Mountain Path level, this version brings new challenges in an exclusive night setting surrounded by spooky pumpkins and a ghost invasion.

They Bleed Pixels is in the Steam Halloween Sale, which we’ve already drawn your glowing Jack o’ Lantern eyes too, but since we didn’t have a great deal to say about the platformer at release, I thought I’d write a few words about its macabre delights here. Despite featuring fiendish platforming and blood-stained levels, it all plays out more like N fused with a beat ‘em up than Super Meat Boy. I’ve only played a few levels and haven’t seen the new Halloween content, but it’s discounted to £2.37 until November 1st and if you’re craving a devilishly difficult game in which spikes are actually your friends, do consider these dripping pixels. The Hostage Negotiation Pack brings four new multiplayer maps, several new items, weapons, Filhos De Ogum avatar faction, and more to Max Payne 3 multiplayer!

Closure is shutting off two thirds of its price, going for $4.99 later today on PSN. Eyebrow Interactive's light-based puzzler is also discounted on Steam for the same price.

The Steam offer ends on November 1, while the PlayStation Blog is less clear about the PSN sale's, er, closure. The post simply says Eyebrow is "launching a special Halloween sale this week." We've reached out to the developer to shed some light.

AirMech "Big & Scary" Update
Halloween has come to AirMech! Along with it, a major overhaul of the UI as we move closer to full open beta on Steam. A lot of balance changes, new Global chat, the start of Friends and Faction systems, almost too much to list!

Halloween Treats
The Pumpkin King appears! Our most outrageous AirMech Variant so far, the "Pumpkin" Saucer transforms into a giant monster with vines for legs and fiery eyes. As with all of our Variants they are just cosmetic alterations of the base AirMechs, but prove to be very popular collector's items and are only offered once a year. Also available are Halloween Pets: Ghost Buddy, Jack O' Lantern, and Vampire Bat. There's also "Pumpkin" Bombs and a Candy Bucket item. All items will be gone after November 6th, so get them while you can!

User Interface 3.0
A significant rework of the UI has gone in which combines elements from Dota 2 and Starcraft 2 that we like, and provides a solid foundation for the next set of features we want to add. The most functional change is that Global Chat has a reserved spot in the UI so it can always remain open in the menus. There's also Faction and Party tabs added, with functionality coming soon. As we move everything over to the new UI we will have some bugs and missing features, but rest assured we are hard at work to get everything done.

New Referral System
We really like it when people bring others to AirMech and have wanted to make this easier and more reliable. You'll see a major change with the new UI for players who have not set their referrer yet, which should greatly increase the number of people getting credit. Many games only let you set a referrer when you sign up, but we let you set it up to level 5 and have also increased the referral rewards. When you set your referrer, you get 1000 Kudos, and the person who you listed will be able to get Diamond rewards from the very first referral. We think it's win-win for everyone!

Ultimate Samson Awakens
If you are lucky you might see Ultimate Samson make an appearance in Global Chat. When he shows up, he will ask that you /roll for a chance to win Diamonds! This has been a lot of fun and are looking at ways to expand this system. You might see other AirMech personalities show up in chat to give you some tips in response to certain questions.

Grimnir's Laboratory, new content for Magicka, is now available on Steam!

Windows 8 (my review: ugh) now in the wild, one of its most vocal opponents makes their next move. A beta of Valve’s previously-announced Steam for Linux is hardly a seachange, but it’s nonetheless a big step in their investigation into a PC gaming future that doesn’t revolve around Microsoft operating systems.(more…)

As promised, Valve has opened up the gates to the Steam for Linux beta this month, and it's now taking applicants to use the hugely popular digital distribution service on everyone's favorite open source operating system. Would-be players can sign up with their Steam accounts right over here, and Valve will follow up in the future.

Valve specifically asks for experienced Linux users for this beta, just because the release only includes the core Steam client and one Valve game. Newer Linux users are being asked to wait for the next beta release, one that presumably won't be quite as barebones.
