Steam's user-generated content network/hub Steam Community has received a new feature that allows members to create and publish their own guides for Steam games. After joining the Steam Community Beta, users can utilize the Guide system's creation functionality to craft stuff like Alden's Overly Simple Portal 2 Puzzle Creator Guide.

Steam's guide creation tools allow users to inject photos and videos from their Steam Cloud into their guides, as well as embed YouTube videos. Additionally, other Steam users can be given read/write access in order to aid in a Guide's construction. They could also aid in the Guide's destruction, we suppose, but that's on you for inviting trolls into the fold. Waking Mars is Now Available on Steam!

You've probably got some favorite games that you play a lot and know pretty well. Or maybe you've mastered playing as a certain class or character in Team Fortress 2 or Call of Duty. Or maybe you're just really good at finding all the hidden secrets in the latest Elder Scrolls game. How do you put that knowledge to use and help fellow gamers? Create a game guide on Steam!

Today we're rolling out Game Guides as a beta to members of the Steam Community Beta. With Game Guides, you can create a guide to help fellow gamers and share your expertise in whatever game you like. To get access to the beta, please join the Steam Community Beta Group.

Creating a Guide:
Once you've joined the beta group noted above, simply go to the Game Hub for any game you play on Steam and look for the "Guides" tab.



Under that tab, you'll find a button to create a guide. You'll be able to upload and insert images or use screenshots that are already in your Steam cloud. You can insert YouTube videos and you can add friends to help you write the guide. When you're done, just publish your guide and it will be accessible to the community.

All 60 frames-per-second of Ninja Theory's Devil May Cry are sliding onto Windows PCs on January 25, 2013 in North America and Europe, just 10 days after the game lands on Xbox 360 and PS3. The port, which Capcom outsourced to Polish team QLOC, will be available via Steam, with the publisher specifying availability at retail in Europe.

Capcom also released minimum and recommended system requirements. The game uses DirectX 9.0, meaning it can run on Windows XP. Apart from 2GB of RAM, players will need at the least AMD Athlon X2 2.8 GHz or Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz horsepower, while ATI Radeon HD 3850 or Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS cards are the minimum graphics-wise.

Pay Once and Play Forever in a new update to The Secret World. The game no longer requires a separate subscription to play!

Hidden within our own modern-day world is a secret world. A world where every myth, legend, and conspiracy theory is true. And now, dark forces are on the move and secrets that should have remained forever buried have finally been uncovered. The world is about to discover that the terrors that have plagued our nightmares are all very real.

Hero Academy, already available on iOS and PC, is now available on Mac via Steam. The addictive turn-based strategy game from Robot Entertainment (Orcs Must Die) pits two teams of various units against one another, tasking players with either destroying the opposing team's crystals, or eliminating all enemy units.

The Steam version is $5 and works on both PC and Mac and includes the special Team Fortress 2 team. Furthermore, all purchased teams work across all versions of the game, including iOS.

Updates to Team Fortress 2, Day of Defeat: Source and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:
