The long-awaited Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, which our deja reviewer called "a love letter to its source," has finally arrived for purchase on Steam. This version of the game originally appeared on Beamdog's website, and then showed up on the iPad, and you can now add it to your Steam collection for $19.99.

Beamdog has said it is gauging sales reception of the "enhanced" re-release to decide on the fate of a potential Icewind Dale remake and a continuation of the Baldur's Gate series. So vote with your dollars.

Steam Greenlight continues to make dreams come true – you know, assuming those dreams are hoisted atop the shoulders of marketing savvy, inherent appeal to a very specific audience, and sometimes implausibly fortuitous happenings, anyway. Ultimately, though, the results are usually quite nice, and this time around appears to be no different. Ten more games have been granted eternal respite in Valve’s hallowed halls, and only one of them’s technically older than many of the people who voted for it. Aside from Larry’s lizardly remake, standouts include the exquisitely handsome-looking MaK, American McGee’s Akaneiro: Demon Hunters, and the supremely Dungeon-Keeper-y War for the Overworld.

Update Notes - Jan 15

NEW FEATURES:
-Food spoils over long periods of time. Stale and Spoiled foods are less beneficial. Rotten food is practically inedible, but can be used as fuel or fertilizer.
-Crock pot foods are now stackable.
-You can build a Ice Box now to mitigate spoilage.
-New unlockable character: WX78, a robot who can eat spoiled food with no penalties, and who hates all living things.
-Steam cloud can now be disabled. (details below)
-New camera controls for streamers/YouTubers: CTRL+P will freeze the camera in place. CTRL+H will hide the hud.
-Smallbirds now grow up to become angsty Teenbirds. Teenbirds will grow up to be Tallbirds and leave the player.
-The mysterious Otto Von Chesterfield can be found in some swamps. (You will need to start a new map to find him)
-Beefalo travel in proper herds now. Herds regenerate off-screen (currently with adults)
-Beefalo herds become agitated when they go into heat, and will chase away the player if they are not wearing a beefalo hat.
-Beefalo sometimes drop a beefalo horn, which can be used to move beefalos around.
-The Spider Hat is no longer craftable - you just wear the Spider Queen's head directly. It also can't be used to steal spiders from an existing queen.

FIXES:
-Health and Hunger values have been re-tuned across the board. Characters have a larger hunger buffer now.
-Addressed minor spelling mistakes
-Minor tweaks and fixes
-Fixed various save/load issues

DISABLING STEAM CLOUD:
Some people have reported save/load issues with Steam Cloud. We have added a workaround that will cause the game to save its files in your documents directory instead. To activate this mode,
add the following two lines to your "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dont_starve\settings.ini" file:

Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt is tallying-ho to Borderlands 2 today for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. It's already reached XBLM, and will make its way to PlayStation Network and Steam later today. The third of the four announced DLC campaigns is free for Season Pass holders, but otherwise sets you back 800 MSP on XBLM, or $9.99 on PSN and Steam. If you're getting Big Game Hunt on PSN in Europe or Oceania, you'll have to wait one more day as it's scheduled there for tomorrow, Jan. 16.

As for when the fourth DLC campaign is due, Gearbox is still sticking to the 'by June 2013' line. That's despite the first three arriving within three months of the game's release, and there being a further five months until June. Ergo, the key word there is by.

You’ve probably never heard of it.) Xi3 announced a thing, Valve hinted that other folks would soon announce other things, and then Gabe Newell talked up Valve’s own thing. There is, in other words, a lot going on here. But there’s also still quite a bit we don’t know, and that’s as good of a place to start as any. So right then, let’s put on our sleuthing hats, start speaking in horrifically nonsensical noir-isms, and get to work.

The release of Gearbox's Aliens: Colonial Marines is finally zeroing in towards us, with publisher Sega launching a new television teaser to promote the oft-delayed title. For PC soldiers, Colonial Marines features a number of bonuses on Steam if players are willing to sign up for the Weyland-Yutani sponsored expedition before its launch.

Steam pre-order bonuses include a Sonic-Harpoon Artillery Remote Projectile (or S.H.A.R.P.) stick rifle, a weapon referenced in James Cameron's Aliens that fires explosive darts. Aliens: Colonial Marines will also be available for Xbox 360, Wii U, and the PlayStation 3, when it launches on February 12.

Spicy Horse aims to publish Akaneiro: Demon Hunters on Steam by January 24, although that depends on a big if. Posting on the game's recently unveiled Kickstarter page, Spicy House founder American McGee said if the Japanese-tinted action RPG is selected in the next round of Steam Greenlight, his team will "push to publish the game on Steam by January 24th."

We should know more by tomorrow, as Jan. 15 is the scheduled date for an announcement of the next batch of Greenlight inductees. McGee is confident the game will be selected, stating that with "Akaneiro currently sitting at #3 it's pretty much certain" of a place in the announcement. McGee hopes getting the Greenlight approval will bring more people and funding to the Kickstarter campaign, which is currently sitting at just under $70,000 for its $200,000 goal with 19 days to go.

Whatever happens, you don't have to wait until January 24 to give Akaneiro a whirl. The game entered open beta last week, and that doesn't close until Wednesday, Jan. 16.
