Omerta - City of Gangsters - The Con Artist DLC, all new content for Omerta - City of Gangsters is Now Available on Steam!

A letter arrived today. The envelope was thick with the smell of a woman's perfume. It was an invitation, but not the invitation I expected. It was a call to take part in the "Greatest con of all time." Intrigued, I followed the message to one of the wealthiest parts of Atlantic City. The place was full of rich little good-for-nothings who never had to work for a living - the perfect setting for a scam.

New Jersey, February 1919. A young woman claiming to be Anastasia Romanov disappears after raising a considerable sum of money from local Russian immigrants who supported the royalist regime in Russia. The police suspected a con scheme but the very people that gave the money truly believed that the self-proclaimed Romanov has gone into hiding because of Soviet spies threatening her life.

The Age of Empires series has seen better days. Days like the year 1999, for instance. That’s when Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings charged onto the itsy-bitsy adowwwwable killing fields, and oh what a grand thing it was. It even looked quite nice for the time, eschewing 3D razzle-dazzle in favor of goode ye-olde-fashioned sprites. Times, however, have changed, and monitors have grown wide and voracious in their appetites for tender, succulent resolutions. Thus, Microsoft’s deemed it high-time for a re-release, on that newfangled, installation-frisbee-free Steam contraption that’ll probably never catch on, no less. Graphics, however, aren’t the only thing getting a modern makeover here.

No planet can contain Angry Birds Space, nor can any digital distributor - Rovio's interstellar bird-flinger is now available on Steam, on sale for $4 through March 14 at 10 a.m. PST. Angry Birds Space was previously available for PCs via Google's Chrome store.

The Steam version of Angry Birds Space doesn't feature touch control options like the standard mobile game, but it does include Steam achievements, leaderboards and, fittingly, Steam Cloud capabilities.

In October, Incredipede developer Colin Northway introduced us to the Offspring Fling process of submitting an indie game to Steam:

"Apply to Steam, be rejected, release without it, get popular, be noticed by Valve, release on Steam."

Steam has since overhauled its submission process with Greenlight, a crowd-sourced method of voting games onto the service. Now from a developer's perspective, the indie submission system needs a related makeover and a new name. We suggest the Incredipede process:

"Post on Greenlight, be rejected, release without it, get popular, be noticed by the IGF and through an award nomination get a deal to release on Steam without Greenlight at all, haters."

It's a little more complicated and relies on a smidgen more luck, but the Incredipede process is one of many new ways to get an indie game on Steam. No matter the system, the goal remains the same - a Steam launch can propel an indie game from "hobby" to "day job," or change a sales outlook from "disappointing" to "happy."

"More and more Steam is the place to be for indie games," Northway tells me. "If I had $15 for every time I heard the comment, 'I would buy this if it was on Steam,' then I'd be much happier with the sales. Which is why I'm really looking forward to the Steam release."

Through its own convoluted yet successful process, Incredipede is coming to Steam for PC and Mac on March 18.

Primal Carnage has just been updated to include the free "Get to the Chopper" mode and "Battle-Scarred T-Rex" skin. To celebrate Lukewarm Media and Reverb Publishing are offering 66% off Primal Carnage for one week!*

Primal Carnage has just received a new, free update called Get to the Chopper, aptly named after the new objective based game mode. In the Get to the Chopper game mode, human players must rush against the clock (and dinosaurs!) to take a series of objectives before they are able to be extracted by a helicopter.

The Get to the Chopper update adds four new maps and introduces a new playable dinosaur class called the Spinosaurus, both of which are specific to the new game mode. The Spinosaurus is a more powerful tank class designed to better defend against the humans in dire situations.

Lastly, every owner of Primal Carnage gets a Battle-Scarred T-Rex skin, which shows a bloodied T-Rex that's seen its fair share of combat.

To celebrate the release of Primal Carnages new free game expansion Lukewarm Media has teamed up with artist, Infected Mushroom to create a new gameplay trailer showcasing the myriad of action, awe and terror to be expected in the Get to the Chopper game mode, which is set to the heart pumping track, "Nation of Wusses," from the album Army of Mushrooms.

*Offer ends March 13th at 10AM Pacific Time.

Valve will give Steam Box prototypes to "customers" within the next three or four months, bossman Gabe Newell told the BBC. Newell didn't specify if these customers were developers, anyone in the gaming public or your cat, but he suggested that Valve is focused on the Steam Box's development.

"We're working with partners, trying to nail down exactly how fast we can make it. We're also working hard on the input side to try to take a step forward in terms of the kinds of games you can play," Newell said. "We'll be giving out some prototypes to customers to get their reactions, I'd guess in the next three or four months."

Valve has a few controller prototypes now and will ship those along with the Steam Box. We've long heard of Valve's love affair with biometrics, and some form of player feedback will be implemented with the hardware.

"What we've found is you can directly measure player state and it turns out to be very useful," Newell said. He continued, "You need to be able to directly measure how aroused the player is, what their heart rate is, things like that, in order to continue to offer them a new experience each time they play."

The patch fixes our level reset bug that has plagued the game since launch. We have attempted to fix this issue in the past, but were unsuccessful. We have now verified fixes for all known ways of reproducing the issue. We are terribly sorry our users had to experience this, and we really appreciate all your support, and thank you all so much for helping us track it down.

Along with the bug fixes, this patch also includes all our recent enhancement that include:

- Changed TDM score to 60 for faster games
- Filtering error in the server browser
- Added ping display on server browser
- Equipped items are now in a logical order so they're easy to find in your loadout
