Cart Life is Now Available on Steam and is 30% off!

A Windows version of Polytron's infinite puzzle dimension portal Fez will be released on May 1, as revealed by the game's new Steam page. Like the XBLA version, it's listed as developed by Polytron and published by Trapdoor.

The Steam page does not show any new features, but at the very least it'll be easier to take screenshots of all the beautiful things you'll see, and, for the sake of your own sanity, the occasional screenshot of a glyph you hope to translate later. Patches should be easier too.

If you'd like to start the fun before the release of the game, you can ask creator Phil Fish anything on Reddit right now.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow may swing onto PCs, given its appearance in Steam's registry. As spotted by NeoGAF, the entry's full name is "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Early Access Comp," with no '2' in sight - the upcoming sequel was announced last August as coming to PC as well as PS3 and Xbox 360.
When a series comes to new platforms we tend to see previous entries follow suit, so it would make sense to whip up a PC version of MercurySteam's reboot. Our only ask is publisher Konami somehow infuses the PC port with even more Patrick Stewart, because you can never, ever have enough Patrick Stewart.

Incredipede hits Steam for PC and Mac on Monday with a sale that knocks $5 off the final price, bringing that bad mama down to $10.

Steam's Incredipede is what developer Colin Northway calls version 1.5, since it adds a plethora of new features: 60 new levels in "normal" difficulty, two new muscles controlled with the right hand (think QWOP with creatures), and real-world achievements that ask players to go outside and play with bugs. Yes, outside.

Incredipede launched via Northway's site on October 25, and while many players enjoyed its wood-cut art style, the gameplay offered a special kind of challenge; the 60 new levels are designed to make the game more accessible. Incredipede has traveled a long, convoluted path to Steam, after Northway initially found fault in Greenlight. Incredipede was later nominated for an IGF award for Excellence in Visual Art, throwing the game on the fast track to Steam distribution. Delve into the details of Incredipede's journey in our recent interview.

This spring, Left 4 Dead 2 characters, including the survivors and the Witch and Mini Tank infected, will make their way into Resident Evil 6's The Mercenaries No Mercy mode, while enemies from RE6 (Lepotitsa, Napad, and Ogroman) will appear in Left 4 Dead 2.

RE6 owners will get to play the new content in that game starting April 5, while the L4D2 update will arrive in a more Valve Time-compliant "spring" release window. Both crossovers will be free to download for owners of either game.

There, now the stuff with the Xi3 computer is no longer the most baffling news to come out of Valve in the last month.

Fractured Soul, the delightfully difficult 3DS action game, will soon be available on single screens. Developer Endgame Studios has submitted a PC, Mac, and Linux version to Steam Greenlight, with additions like an optional easy mode, more advanced timers for speedrunning, and video export.

Lacking two discrete screens, Fractured Soul's Steam version uses an unusually skewed splitscreen. It's an interesting effect visible in the above trailer.

This is kind of cool. When Gabe Newell accepted his BAFTA fellowship last week, he crowd-sourced his speech in the Valve offices. All he received was sarcastic responses, which he then told to the audience. He was then interviewed backstage, and without the yoke of his cruel workmates he dropped a few amazing stats. The first one is that Valve’s business grew massively in the last year, by about 50%. I’ll bet it’s mostly Dota 2 related. And it’s an easy way to put paid to the notion that Valve’s recent lay-offs might be because of financial trouble. That was never going to be the case, but now it’s unfathomable. The other one is actually more impressive, and I’ll tell you that and include the video below. You’ll never guess.(more…)

Incredipede was one of last year’s most delightful surprises, and you should feel ashamed for not playing it. The grotesquely adorable creature constructor was not, however, without its flaws, and creator Colin Northway has no trouble admitting it. Now, though, Qwozzle’s got her tiny yet mighty sights set on Steam, and she’ll be completing her dogged climb into Newell’s house of wonders (and hopefully apples) on March 18th. But this isn’t the same game the most beautiful and handsome among you played late last year. Among other things, version 1.5 includes an entire new set of less-punishing Normal mode levels, a much more versatile control scheme, and eagles (!!!). After the break, you’ll find a trailer of the new features and levels in action, plus a rather massive chat with Northway and artist Thomas Shahan. So go forth! Peruse!
