He wears sunglasses, kicks asses, and lacks gum, and now the original King is living it up on Steam. Publisher Devolver Digital brings Duke Nukem 3D to the Steam store today in what it's calling the Megaton Edition, which collates the 1996 shooter with three expansion packs for $9.99 - in case you missed DN3D being festively free on GOG last year.

The three bundled-in expansions are Duke Caribbean: Life's a Beach, Duke: Nuclear Winter, and Duke It Out in DC. DN3D supports both PC and Mac, and comes with its own set of Steam achievements. Meanwhile, developer General Arcade plans to bring further features to it down the line including online multiplayer via Steamworks, Linux support, and more expansion packs.

Remember Duke Nukem Forever? I apologise for bringing it up, but it’s important you realise that it was an imposter. A duck in Duke’s clothes. There was a reason we were all excited about the possibility of a Duke Nukem game, and with the surprise release of Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition you can see why. Devolver Digital are bringing a shinier, but not too shiny, version of the classic shooter to Steam, and they magicked up a trailer.(more…)

The Bug Hunt DLC for Aliens: Colonial Marines is available today on Steam, Xbox Live, or the PlayStation Network.

Bug Hunt is a new mode in the game that pits up to four players against waves of incoming xenos and enemy soldiers across three new maps: Broadside, Mercenary, and Tribute. You can earn money on the map by killing enemies, and then spend that money to open up extra areas, or buy more guns, ammo, or health.

If you invested in the Season Pass for the game, you'll get this DLC for free. Everybody else has to pony up the equivalent of around $15, though Steam has the game itself on sale for 33 percent off.

Careful, as fighting giant monsters with acid blood in cramped quarters might be exactly as fun as it sounds.

Divekick, the two-button fighting game from One True Game Studios, is trying its luck on Steam Greenlight with an updated launch window of summer 2013, pushed back from this spring.

Divekick was the subject of a successful Kickstarter campaign in July, but Iron Galaxy canceled that fundraising drive once it secured a publishing deal with Street Fighter 3: Online Edition's Iron Galaxy. Perhaps One True Game is hoping to transfer all that unfinished mojo into a Steam launch.

One True Game Studios and Iron Galaxy have plans to bring Divekick to PC, PS3 and Vita this summer. Divekick began as a parody but is now a rising name in the fighting game circuit; it'll be at PAX East in booth 899, if you're around and down for some serious kicking action.

NeoGAF user canIhasAnAccount discovered a temporary XBLA box art and banner for a new Strider game. Subsequently, users found a Strider entry on the Steam database, complete with icon of Strider Hiryu's face from the Capcom ninja series.

To extrapolate further, user Sega1991 found a Steam Community page connected by number with the leaked Steam information, posted by a user "ascarlston" whose profile offers a first name "Andrew." A quick search finds one Andrew Carlston in the game industry, a junior programmer at Double Helix. He's Steam friends with someone named Jorge Oseguera, a name belonging to a producer at Double Helix. Double Helix is the studio behind Silent Hill: Homecoming, as well as Front Mission Evolved and the Battleship game (based on the movie based on the game.)

As we find ourselves trapped deep within this rabbit hole, we called out to Capcom for verification of any of this. Capcom told Joystiq only that "We have made no announcements in regards to that title." In the absence of more info about that, why not look back at the last attempted Strider reboot, by GRIN Barcelona?

DLC Quest is now available on Steam for PC and Mac, cashing in on its Greenlight success with a 20 percent-off sale, making the entire game just $2.40. DLC Quest on Steam includes the original platformer and new Live Freemium or Die campaign, and of course more than 30 DLC packs, all providing commentary concerning microtransactions and the pared-out state of gaming.

But don't fret: All DLC, no matter how essential to the actual gameplay, is purchased with in-game coins. The DLC Quest launch sale runs through March 25 at 10 a.m. PDT, when the game is bumped back up to its regular, super-inflated price of $3.

Clean up on aisle Aliens: Colonial Marines - Sega launched a patch to address a few of the issues in Colonial Marines, including various visual improvements, improved texture resolution, audio fixes, increased enemy and friendly AI responsiveness, modified enemy collision detection and NPC navigation, fixed spawning issues, removal of the ability to walk outside of maps, and many more, listed in full below.

Our favorite from this extensive list has to be, "Addressed an issue where Ripley's Flamethrower (bonus content) would sometimes fire continuously without player input." The update should automatically install on Steam, so unfortunately there's no way to keep that particular glitch (feature?) in your game.

When Colonial Marines launched in February, we found it to be a broken, unfinished mess, and most others agreed. Since it hit stores, developers Gearbox, TimeGate and publisher Sega have yet to agree where the blame lies. TimeGate let go 25 people in early March.

DLC Quest is Now Available on Steam and is 20% off!

What happens when DLC practices go too far? An indie developer makes a game that mocks the industry and its foibles, that's what! Defeat the bad guy, save the world and get the girl! But first you'll need to find coins to buy DLC to enable animation, sound and even pausing.

Thankfully this is just satire and all the DLC is purchased with in-game coins. But consider it a cautionary tale for the future...

Let us know what kind of neat artwork youve created and share it with the community. To upload artwork, go to the related Community Hub's Artwork tab and look for the "Upload Artwork" button at the top right.

And finally, youll see new drop-down navigation for the main Steam menu, added to accommodate all the major destinations across Steam. Weve separated out all the links that relate to You from links that relate to the larger Steam Community, improving clarity and making for quick access to your favorite destinations.
