Megaman Volnutt(think megaman legends) would be the only capcom character I would see fitting for a smash bros game, since he fits the most into the nintendo esque universe. The other megamans have too loose of a plot line to really fit into smash bros, which when you look at it goes alot deeper inot back stories then you would think. It shows their home worlds, you get trophies telling about them, you hear the music from their games, and you see then and all their main attacks.

We all know this is never going to happen, but I still think it's interesting to see what classes people play but mostly I want to know whose games I should join based on criteria only I will know.

Post your three best class in order, best classes. Not your favorite classes, the ones you can get shit done with. You know, Engineer is fun, but I'm not stupid. I'm not under the illusion I can actually top the scoreboard without being the only person with a tele up.

So three, go.

Mine are Heavy, Medic, Solider.

Cloud gaming poster child OnLive took the opportunity at E3 to show off its tablet-bound OnLive Player application, coming to both iPad and Android devices "later this year," while providing "far higher performance, richer gameplay and deeper social integration than any console announced for 2012." Yeah, that's a not-so-subtle dig at the Wii U.

While the OnLive Viewer app currently available doesn't allow for actually playing OnLive on a tablet, the upcoming Player app "will enable gameplay of virtually all OnLive games on an iPad and Android tablet with touch or OnLive's new Universal Wireless Controller." Demoed in the video below is Ubisoft's From Dust, which accepts touch-based input on the tablet applications.

Even more notable, considering Nintendo's latest console announcement, is news that the OnLive Player app will allow "the tablet to be used as a touch and motion controller combined with an HDTV (or PC/Mac if preferred)." The tablet can even enable "both synchronized or independent video on the tablet and HDTV screen, enabling combined gameplay with tablet and HDTV" or, more like the concepts we saw of Wii U, "separate gameplay on tablet and HDTV."

Take a tour with OnLive prez Steve Perlman after the break; we'll stop by OnLive's E3 booth tomorrow for a tour of our own.

Francis

"both synchronized or independent video on the tablet and HDTV screen".  uh huh.  I bet OnLive saw Nintendo's keynote and were like "dude, we can do that".  As far as I know, no one has plans to make a game specifically for OnLive.

I don't care about how much the console costs.

I'm worried about the controllers.

The has a huge touchscreen, that's very powerful. About at, what, an xbox 360?
 in that thin little thing?

There's no doubt you have to shell out $120+ for a damned 2nd controller. I wouldn't be shocked if it was over 200. Haven't seen any other gaming sights touch on this issue.

The entire console is a mess anyway.

MM

Pretty sure nothing is actually rendered in the controller.

They are going to have to add multiple tablet support considering all the bitching about it.

"Iwata summed it the basic idea nicely: players would spend time on the 3DS version, building up their character and collecting stuff, then show off their skills on the Wii U version.

Sakurai noted that as the Wii U is an HD system, this version could offer 60 frames per second visuals, high quality graphics, dynamic effects, and smooth character movements.

While it is important to have both versions of the game be enjoyable on their own, Sakurai feels that connectivity between the two versions will make the experience even more enjoyable.

Closing off the little section offering vague hints about the new Smash Bros. games, Sakurai said that his aim with the 3DS version is to offer players a slightly different experience from conventional Smash Bros. games. He believes that there is merit in having skilled and unskilled players play together, so one emphasis will be on elements of players helping one-another."

Surprisingly, Nintendo wasn't the one to answer the question that's been at the forefront of our minds since John Riccitiello talked up the Wii U's online capabilities: Ubisoft recently told MTV Multiplayer that the system will get rid of the maligned Friend Codes system in favor of a single online identity (think: Gamertag). Players will also be able to build friends lists without the laborious process of swapping serial numbers.

The publisher reiterated the system's new, streamlined online network during a Nintendo developer roundtable, explaining that the studio is aiming for the Wii U to be Ghost Recon Online's backbone. The title will apparently play host to leaderboards, parties and a live activity feed of your Wii U friends which appears on the WiiPad. We'll press Nintendo for more info!

Even if they mean the GBA Four Swords, the first thing I thought of when I saw the WiiU was Four Swords Adventures. I guess it's another example of Nintendo having worked on their major innovations for longer than first seems (fun fact: the Gamecube contains hardware/software that was intended to allow the running of 3D games with an attachable screen).

In a few hours is Nintendo's press conference where they will reveal a new console system.

Microsoft's press briefing consisted of mostly Kinect stuff and announcing a new Halo trilogy.

Sony's showed sequels, a Playstation TV with 3D glasses that allow two local players to have their own full screen, and the NGP which is now the "Playstation Vita" and will cost the same as the 3DS.

and just in time for the flood of E3 news is my new site... DIGI.VG.  Pronounced "digi dot vigi".  It is sort of a re-purposing of digibutter to be totally gaming focused.  (Your same digibutter account works there)  It will only show gaming topics, and the home page will group similar posts together (sort of like Google News), so it will always be a good view of the popular latest news.  Right now it's a really rough beta proof-of-concept, but expect it become more polished over time.

This lets digibutter focus on community and other random crap.  I can do whatever I want to digibutter and not worry about scaring away people who just want gaming news (which, we actually get a lot of traffic for btw).

Gold Prognosticus
Site owners usually get some kind of information on visitor traffic right? If I'm thinking of the right thing, Francis should be able to see where the visitors are being linked to this site from - it would be interesting to know how the majority of visitors are finding us these days.
Gold Prognosticus

Perhaps something like this would be useful for users to see what other sites are available and switch between them easily. (Assuming Francis doesn't want to completely de-associate the two sites, which would be hard seeing as there's overlap between the sites at the moment anyway.)
