Also, an interesting fact for you: The music in OOT:3D isn't actually a direct rip of the original game's music, but fresh tracks that took a lot of working to make them sound like the originals. (Information taken from a recent Nintendo magazine)

I'm making this topic to summarize the events of the previous session in case anyone missed it or anyone new would like to get in.

Day One:

Our brave, mutated adventurers the rock man robot Detla (Rave), the photon wielding regeneton Jack (Boreal), and the radioactively animated cactus Gordon (Bremmy) awoke to find themselves trapped within the laboratory of a giant talking brain calling himsefl Dr. Nepheranis, enclosed in glass jars and bond by iron limbs. The good doctor revealed that he had plans for his new specimens, he need help gathering resources to finish up his new project, an experiment he was convinced would be able to bring new life back to the irratated wastes of Gamma Terra. He had a nasty bug problem with giant mutated roaches eating up all his electrical equipment, and on top of that one of his digital records of the Ancient times had gone missing and he was out 500 pounds of fish food needed to serve as raw protiens for the consturction of new life. His current line of help just couldn't get the job done, so to insure our boys would do just as he asked he installed a small bomb into each of their skulls, threatening to trigger the powerful explosives should they not conform to his demands. This death threat wasn't enough for Jack however, so Nepharinus promised to throw in a few Omega Techs as well should the party complete their end of the bargain.

Agreed that their best option was to complie with the doctor for now, he seemed like a good enough guy after all (if a bit insane), our three heroes were whisked away into the innards of the facility to complete their first taks, roach extermination. As they began their search for the mutant pests Nepharinus revealed one more surprise, they would not be going alone. From a chute above shot down Don, a very polite and perhaps too well manned blob, accesories included, who explained that he would be following the group and assisting them in their travels through the wastes, and blowing them up should they try to run away.

With their new companion in tow the adventurers set forth into the innards of the facility where they were attacked by an Arn, a large fly like creature, and several Roach Swarmers. Gordon rushed in and dispatched one of the roaches quite handely, but will our heroes be able to survive the rest of what lurks within Dr. Nepharinus's basement?

It's officially a trend. One day after Sony introduced a cheaper, less functional PSP for Europe, Nintendo has announced a new budget Wii for the region. The new Wii, according to Nintendo UK, is designed to sit horizontally instead of vertically (although the original Wii can technically do both, so we aren't sure what the distinction is). The other major alteration is the loss of GameCube backward compatibility -- both games and accessories.

This new model will be released sometime before Christmas, in a bundle with a Wii Remote Plus, Nunchuk, Wii Party and Wii Sports. Other bundles will also be forthcoming. Eurogamer posted the above picture, and also got word from Nintendo that the company will "focus on the new Wii Bundle/s going forward," suggesting it won't coexist with the current model. Bye, GameCube!

A console losing backwards compatibility is retarded.
At least the console they're removing support for isn't still coming out with games, any more, unlike a certain other console that had backwards compatibility removed.

Faced with drooping sales and waning retail interest in its platforms, Nintendo's been exercising its price-cutting muscle with some regularity. Before the unexpected 3DS price cut, there was the $50 Wii price cut that also included a bundled copy of Mario Kart Wii and the Wii Wheel accessory. At the same time, Nintendo introduced the budget-priced Nintendo Selects game lineup and, on August 28, it's dropping four more games to the $19.99 price point.

Super Paper Mario, Mario Strikers Charged, Punch-Out!!, and Super Mario Galaxy join The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Mario Super Sluggers, and Wii Sports in the bargain aisle. While it's hard to argue with the new, lower price, our secret, inner box-art snob wonders, "Is a measly $30 savings worth the shame of having that on the game shelf?" A look at the art from the first four Nintendo Selects selections after the break.

I really cannot fathom what’s going on with Cargasm. As we’ve said many times, the way it’s being promoted is foul, with awful allusions toward gathering some sort of harem of scantily clad women and so forth. And we’ve also pointed out that its claims of “photo-realistic graphics” for its iOS version are, well, nonsense. But the biggest issue of all is despite some really impressive-looking screenshots, we’ve still yet to see the game actually show any driving. And that continues in the latest video, with yet more of what I’m pretty certain is an awkward, juddery fly-through in the level creator rather than actual in-game footage, which is clearly trying to look like a driver’s view. However, I don’t post it for Cargasm at all, really. Rather for the extremely interesting tech that’s discussed coming from Near Global. It’s well worth a look.

I've started work on the script, so far it just tweaks the sidebar and index page to send game-related pages to Digibutter rather than Digi.vg. Next I'm planning on adding a filter for the old Digi smilies.
