Are you excited for Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Dark Lord? I’m sure many of you are, but I’m not one of them. I just have no interest in the ‘tower defense’ genre, and I cannot understand why it has gotten so popular. I find those types of games boring, already [...]

It would be great if we can get 100 enemies running on screen at once but if it’s not necessary then we won’t go that route. Or if it seems cool, then we’ll do it. HVS’ goal has been - and maybe this will help clarify some of what we’re thinking under the hood - [...]

A portion of a Dtoid review… RPGs are going to have to do a lot more these days than simply say “Look at how old school I am” in order to impress. This game has not done that. It’s not really done anything well at all. Full review here

Kirby, I love you…I really do. With that said, you aren’t really the brightest game character in the bunch. You’ve nearly caused the destruction of Dreamland a couple of times, all due to your incessant hatred of King Dedede. I happen to think that he’s not such a bad guy. You [...]

I didn’t realize just how much of an impact Michael Jackson had on the video game community. There are many more stories about the King of Pop than I thought. I admit that I love the man’s music, but that’s where my interest ends. I will say that I’m sorry he passed [...]

A ton of pixel love coming from Offworld today. We have a bit of Mario/Luigi pixel art, an NES cover for a game that never existed, a very strange ROM hack, and a video flyer for the next NYC Pulsewave show. Pulsewave NES ROM invite - June 2009 from NO CARRIER on Vimeo. Mario and Luigi [...]

Thanks to Zephyrflare and MacTooth for the heads up! Seriously, I am boiling over with rage today. You don’t know how angry I am that we have virtually no chance of this title coming to North America. I need to get the details on acquiring a Euro Wii and the right plugs/converters in order [...]

I’m sure there will be more games hitting Europe/Australia for the Hanabi Festival, but we’ll learn about those at a later date. Right now, just be happy that the festival is returning, and games are already being listed! Link

GameStop seems to think so, but Capcom isn’t talking. We just keep hearing ‘Winter’ from them, which doesn’t do us any good. I think a holiday release would definitely benefit the game, so let’s hope that’s what Capcom is aiming for. Link

Battery back-up to save your progress Remember when passwords were the only way to ’save’ your progress? There’s nothing more fun than writing down 26 characters when you want to take a break from playing, and then learning later on that you wrote something wrong. While we don’t talk about how we save games [...]

“We have something that we think is different from anything else out there and will give us a competitive advantage. Beyond that, we can’t say much.” - THQ’s Chief Executive Brian Farrell Nintendo loves their peripheral games, as do Activision and EA. Now THQ is getting into the mix, but they aren’t saying what [...]

A portion of a NintendoStar review… If you have a good collection of games, you’ll find something you can jog along with. Wii jOG definitely delivers, and if you’re looking for more ways to get into shape, £17.99 seems like a reasonable price. + Encourages exercise + Nice design + Affordable - Limited amount of compatible games Full review here

The World Ends With You is all about synergy. You have to work well with your partner, you have to mesh with the rules of the game, and you need to truly get into the story in order to understand and care about what you’re doing. That’s not where synergy for the title [...]

To say that the movie set for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has nothing to do with the games would be absolute rubbish. EA has taken all their location models/shots from what appears in the movie. They wanted to create a synergy between their work and the final movie. For a very in-depth [...]

How did FIFA come to be the biggest sports franchise in all of gaming? Well, it all started with a pair of guys that were Pro Evo fans. These guys couldn’t stand FIFA compared to Pro Evo, as they viewed Konami’s offering far superior to what EA was doing. Now those two guys work [...]
