Still playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare? Clear your calendars on November 10. In fact, just throw them away, say goodbye to your friends and family, and stock up on ready-to-eat foods and adult diapers. If Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 manages to usurp the multiplayer throne from its predecessor - which it's expected to do - you're going to need 'em. It's an "evolution" of everything you loved about the first game, running at the same gorgeous 60 frames per second. The evening was sponsored by Microsoft (no surprise given the Modern Warfare 2 console reveal), and it was strictly multiplayer only. We played games of Domination, Assault, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag on the three maps featured in this demo, for a total of four hours of fragging. Read on for what's new, some images from the event, some brand-new screenshots, and some multiplayer video at the end of the post.

Sadly, this is the very last issue of Atomix, but it’s going out with some big coverage of Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom. It’s always sad to see another print magazine die off, but at least this one is doing things big before they close.

I don’t think I want the game that bad. I would feel bad for selling it with a price like that! Thanks to Darkuni for the heads up!

Capcom has released a trailer for the Wii version of Resident Evil 0, a GameCube title which was itself a prequel to Resident Evil -- though it was released long after the original. Oh, and the game has already been out in Japan for over a year. If you're confused at all, don't be. Just remember one thing: Other than added support for the Classic Controller and the Wii remote plus Nunchuk, the game is identical to the already available, and backwards compatible, GameCube version. Keep in mind, by "added support," we don't mean enhanced controls -- there's no pointer support or anything. Try to get excited for its impending winter release. We dare you.

Today's Nikkei newspaper reveals (via Inside Games) that Kyoto-based Nintendo is looking to mix things up in its quality control department, by turning it into a separate subsidiary: Mario Club. Not to be confused with Club Nintendo, the role of the subsidiary will be to test play and debug games -- y'know, like every other QA team in existence.Aside from the great name, the Mario Club will also be a public entity, meaning that one day you non-blogger types could very well purchase some stock in the company. Of course, we would never be able to, thanks to that party-pooper, ethics. That guy just has a way of sucking all of the fun out of the room. [Via Andriasang]

From what I know, this is a collection of screens from Shantae: Risky’s Revenge long before it was coming to the DSi. This is just an idea of what we can expect. Compare these screens to the DSiWare screens we saw in Nintendo Power yesterday, and you’ll see that things have gotten even [...]

Microsoft has dropped the details surrounding the official Halo 3: ODST launch party. The event will be held on September 21 at the Experience Music Project / Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame in Seattle, and will be attended by Bungie's own Joe Staten as well as 343 Industries' Frank O'Connor. A Firefight mode tournament will be held, with prizes given to the winners. Prizes will also be awarded to those with the best Halo-themed costume (good luck winning against these guys). Select fans will also get a chance to try out the campaign (a whole day early!), and several panels with Bungie and 343 Industries will be held as well. Finally, fans can expect previews of Halo Waypoint and the upcoming anime project, Halo Legends. The event will run from 6-11 PM, Pacific Time.

Aside from showing off a mess of impressive gameplay from Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines, a recent PlayStation.Blog interview with Bloodlines producer Dominic Lefrançois and senior producer Dan McAuliffe revealed some interesting facts about the interactivity between the PSP game and its PS3 sibling. A handful of moves have transferred over from Assassin's Creed 2, though Lefrançois would only mention the ledge grab you see above. Additionally, "Templar coins" and weapons earned through assassinations in Bloodlines will transfer to AC2, while health from the codecs in AC2 will transfer to Bloodlines. It certainly sounds like a great incentive to purchase both games on both pla -- hey! We're on to you, Ubisoft!
