If our late-night review of Halo 3: ODST filled you with an unbridled desire to purchase the noir-filled shooter, Toys R Us will have quite the deal on the game's launch day. Those willing to travel to the giraffe-approved retailer this Tuesday are eligible to receive an ODST action figure and a $20 gift card with their purchase of the title. We suggest spending the complimentary Geoffrey Bucks on another action figure to keep your lil' trooper company as you spend the next few weeks exploring New Mombasa. Make sure you don't purchase any Master Chief action figures, though. There's no reason to give the poor guy an inferiority complex.

Well, this is getting tiresome. Here's yet another Bleach game by Sony that will seemingly never come to America. What's with the hold-up?Bleach: Soul Carnival 2 is, predictably, a follow-up to last year's Chibi-Ichigo brawler. This time around, the game will focus more on the story of the anime, and it will incorporate many scenes from the show as players progress. This teaser trailer ends with "Coming this Winter," which (if you haven't figured it out by now) doesn't apply to you, unless you import.

I was messing around with the level creator and I found a pretty good way to do this so that it doesn't kill your character and the enemy disappears. First spawn an enemy, then give them Shrink Ray item. Here comes the kinda-sorta complex part. First spawn a bomb.Touch the enemy to activate personality traits and go to Use and then select the bomb. Then put each very close together in the order Bomb, Enemy, You going from left to right. If you did it right, as soon as the level starts the enemy will set off the bomb, shoot you once to shrink you, and then die. You may then proceed to make a level where the character can not use items or vehicles.

Interesting.

Sounds pretty cool pops

Also, for those wondering, it sounds like there are quite a few ‘Rabbid’ unlockable characters. I thought it would just be one, but apparently Ubisoft crammed a few in there!

It looks like it really is happening, and you can preorder your copy now! Click here to grab yours (thanks Brian!)

The guys at Popular Science have seen fit to put together a small guide to DSi homebrew. I’m not sure why they felt the need to do so, and unfortunately, they bring up/link to emulation solutions. Hopefully you guys will be using this guide as a way to enjoy homebrew-built games and apps, [...]

Check that out! That’s a pretty nice collection of Nintendo arcade games. It may not be a room full of them, but getting the Mario Kart action alone is worth a tip of the hat. Who know that Christina Aguilera was a closet Nintendo fan?! Thanks to KillerHeroes for the heads [...]

I’ve never played Crash ‘n the Boys, but after reading this article, I think I might have to. It may not be the best game on the Virtual Console, but it’s certainly a unique one. It sounds like one of those classic titles that simultaneously brings back your love of 8-bit gaming, all [...]

The DS Phat doesn’t get much game time since the DS Lite, and now DSi have come around. I guess that’s kind of a good thing, because the Phat can spend some time on vacation!

We showed a video like this not too long ago, but this one is slightly different. Better to bone up now, than to get your ass kicked on launch day! Direct link here (thanks Prem!)

Direct link here I’m not even a big RPG fan, and even I know Kefka’s theme! You can really get a feeling for the character just by looking at a piece of art and listening to this music. One of the best themes to come out of the 16-bit days.

A portion of a Nintendo Life review… The lack of variety in the gameplay and omission of online leaderboards will take the shine off replay value for some, but the visual polish and outstanding soundtrack definitely make up for it and ensure Magnetis will find a place in every puzzle fan’s collection.

Enter "The Green Box." The question we've all been asking ourselves: Is Halo 3: ODST worth $60? If you want the answer, this is your review: In hindsight, announcing what was then "Halo 3: Recon" as a "value-oriented" expansion appears to have been a crucial first misstep for Microsoft and Bungie along the road to marketing what is now Halo 3: ODST. In time, the so-called expansion grew to include a complete campaign with 4-player support; Firefight, a separate co-op multiplayer mode; a comprehensive version of Halo 3 multiplayer; and access to the Halo: Reach beta when it becomes available at an unspecified date next year. ODST was ultimately set at the standard, full-game price of $60. That's when folks got skeptical. So how's your money being spent? $30 + $10 + $10 + The Remainder = Halo 3: ODST

I'll probably only be getting this for the Multiplayer.

Though it may lack the ever-catchy soundtrack of another recently released, undead-centric twin stick shooter, we're still pretty pumped for Nihilistic Software's Zombie Apocalypse. Imagine our rapture when a recent news post on the developer's blog revealed that the title will be landing on XBLA and PSN next Wednesday and Thursday (respectively) for 800 ($10). If you lack imagination, we'll clue you in -- our rapture was immeasurable. Not only does this seem like the perfect training manual for the actual, inevitable zombocalypse, but it's a great refresher course on undead genocide before the year's more substantial zombie-action game comes out.

The graphics may be a bit undercooked and the series' last entry may have been released in the States over five years ago, but we certainly were happy to hear that Way of the Samurai 3 will be arriving on October 13th in the US. Agetec and UFO Interactive -- in charge of publishing the PS3 and 360 iterations, respectively -- officially announced the game's impending October arrival yesterday, as well as news of an iPhone iteration of the game currently available for free.Sure, the iPhone version of WotS3 isn't much more than a side-scrolling brawler, but hey, it's free! Hopefully that can sate your samurai murdering urges for another month. Way of the Samurai 3 ($0.00): [Via Destructoid]

It seems Australian zombie enthusiasts aren't alone in their dismay over the OFLC's recent ban on the sale of Left 4 Dead 2 in the Land Down Under -- Valve's Doug Lombardi recently told Shacknews that the ban came as quite a surprise for the developer as well. "Obviously, everyone at Valve is pretty bummed," Lombardi explained, as a grief-wracked Gabe Newell wept openly into his shoulder. It's a real shame that the OFLC added L4D2 to its expansive list of titles prohibited from being sold in Australia -- not only because Aussies will be robbed of one of the most promising multiplayer titles of 2009, but because it effectively invalidates the two parties' pre-existing peacemaking efforts.
