When you look at the graph, you can come away with three different answers. Either Wii is doing well and PS3 isn’t, PS3 is doing well and Wii isn’t…or both are doing poorly!

Speaking to Business Week, Microsoft's general manager of global content acquisition and strategy, Ross Honey, painted a somewhat bleak picture for web content on Xbox Live. While The Guild has managed to succeed on Microsoft's platform, it has done so via a sponsorship deal with Sprint. Apparently, finding a different way to monetize a web series -- like inserting ads into programming -- is generally more trouble than it's worth. Furthermore, Honey tells Business Week that it's important that Microsoft finds content that will "move the needle" -- in other words, content that will appeal to the Xbox audience. Honey pointed out that "gamers love watching things about gaming," noting that the World of Warcraft and Guitar Hero inspired South Park episodes are the most popular shows on Xbox Live. Failing that, you could always make your web series about Halo.

I have no idea what I’m talking about. Every time I try to figure out what the real situation is here, I just get hit with more sports talk that flies way over my head. Well that, plus the fact that slang is being used, and it’s slang that a U.S.A. born-and-raised person [...]

This may come as a surprise to many of you, but Twitter is actually good for something other than the distribution of DLC codes and pictures starlets take of themselves in bikinis. Every once in a great while, it's good for a tiny sliver of news, such as when Q-Games' Dylan Cuthbert tweets that the company's next title, Pixeljunk Shooter, is slated to arrive in Japan this December. Cuthbert then tweeted a picture of himself in a bikini. Yeah, it got weird.

If you've been trying to convince your casual-minded significant other that you don't just want, but rather need, a DSi in addition to the DS you own, your moment may have just arrived. PopCap has announced that it'll be bringing its stupefyingly popular puzzle titles Bookworm and Bejeweled Twist to DSiWare this month and the next, respectively. Sure, they'll be out later on retail shelves (December 1, 2009 for Bookworm and Q1 2010 for Bejeweled Twist), but if you're going to score yourself a new DSi, your significant other can never know this. They can never, ever know.

We told you how Turbine was approaching the "PS3 vs. 360" question for its new MMO, and now MCV has presented further insight into the project, also gleaned from a talk during Austin GDC. For starters, MCV says that a 2011 release for the game is expected, though we're uncertain if that date was just hinted at or based on something project development VP Craig Alexander explicitly said. Also, Turbine has apparently spent $20 million on the game so far, which makes the fact that Alexander alluded to it as a free-to-play title even more surprising. Although, we imagine Turbine will find some way of extracting cash from the willing.
