One of the multiple solutions to getting a starite out of a tree in Scribblenauts. I think that image right there speaks volumes about the creativity and freedom in this game!

When Irish protagonist Sean in The Saboteur isn't busy, uh, saboteuring, he likes to frequent the local gentleman's establishment, The Belle de Nuit. And about four seconds into the above clip, we totally get why he would: his passion for architecture. Look at the beautiful hanging chandeliers and balustrades in that building and tell us there's any other reason for the dude to be hanging around there. Yeah, we thought so.After checking out the above video, head into the gallery below for some new screens.

I’m glad I don’t live in or near Tokyo. I would be broke from buying any and all video game related toys I could find.

Siliconera got the jump on a likely TGS announcement from Capcom, finding an American trademark for "Last Ranker." The PSP role-playing game, revealed by Famitsu last week, follows a young man's rise through a worldwide fighting tournament, and the events and characters in his life during that tournament. It's being developed by Sands of Destruction/Luminous Arc creator Image Epoch, which is a promising sign for an RPG. We'll find out more about its semi-turn-based combat system this week at TGS. In the meantime, enjoy the extremely short trailer for the game in Capcom's Click Theater, a site set up specifically for extremely short trailers of TGS games!

I guess the people behind Japan’s ‘New York Modern Museum of Art’ are into the Wii! That would explain why Sanyo’s Eneloop Wiimote chargers are being sold there. Just another nod to how mainstream the Wii has become.

Now see, this is the sort of thing that Nintendo should be putting on DSiWare! I’d download these books in a heartbeat, especially if they came with narration and music!

Speaking to MCV, the NPD has announced plans to track sales of downloadable games. The group aims to track sales of console, PC and mobile phone games. According to NPD's director of corporate marketing David Riley, download charts are needed in order to "provide a no-nonsense view of what's happening on the publisher level, keeping away from the spin, and in some cases, misleading information that often appears on the internet." It's certainly a valid goal, but we at the 'Stiq have only one question: How? There are many, many online outlets in the business of selling downloadable titles, ranging from small, independent sites to Steam to the digital arms of giants like GameStop and Amazon. Still, if the NPD can wrangle data from enough distributors, and clearly identify those participating, it could easily prove to be a valuable metric for analysts .. and a terrifying one for brick-and-mortar retailers.
