A deluge of Capcom media arrived from the Tokyo Game Show today -- so much, in fact, that we nearly forgot to tell you the Japanese publisher announced intentions to bring Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes and Ghost Trick to North America and Europe in 2010. Traditionally, the Sengoku Basara series (think Dynasty Warriors, but from Capcom) hasn't been published outside of Japan, but with the game's third installment Capcom has decided to bring the game worldwide for the PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii (thrilling trailer above). While we don't have any video for Ghost Trick (there are screens below), we know it comes from the same folks who worked on Capcom's Ace Attorney series. Apparently players will be controlling the ghost of a recently passed gentleman, piecing together clues to solve his own murder. That's some trick, you crazy ghost! Sorry, we're done channeling Brian Fellows now.

It looks like the good doc is using his skilled hands to fix the inner-workings of cell phones. Good to know he keeps busy when not curing the sick! Thanks to Julian for the heads up!

While it has become an extremely popular style of game over the last few years, tower defense titles have always struck me as a boring concept, personally. Perhaps it's my penchant for firing weapons at moving targets in first-person, but I can't really articulate my lack of enthusiasm for the strategy-style gameplay. My initial reaction to Toy Soldiers -- a tower defense game in a World War I setting -- in a behind-closed-doors Microsoft demo? Snore. Imagine my surprise, then, that I soon got genuinely excited to play the game when it lands sometime next year.

Level-5's Ni no Kuni: The Another World is, in general, a pretty standard JRPG. However, it's a pretty standard RPG that takes place in a Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Ponyo, Princess Mononoke) world, and is thus magical. It really feels like you're inhabiting a Ghibli movie, from the appearance of swarms of cute little spherical characters to the lush forest environments. The frequent animated cutscenes and the persistent voice acting (every line of text in the demo, whether in a cutscene or spoken in a pop-up text window) is fully voiced, which helps the cinematic feel.

Oh my gawd, oh my gawd, the twinkly blood-suckers of Twilight are coming to Wii in a Scene It? game this fall! Yes, the vampire franchise -- with only one released movie under its coffin -- will be the subject of an entire multimedia-based trivia game for Wii, featuring some 500 multiple-choice questions based on clips, music and audio from the film. There are no details about the DS version of the game, which will release sometime next year. (There's also no mention of an Xbox 360 or PS3 version.) We'd call this the "shovelware cash-in of trivia games," but we'd be afraid that in doing so, pale, starving actors covered in glitter would come and suck our blood -- accompanied by throngs of enraged tweens and housewives that would rip our lifeless bodies to shreds. So ... we'll just call it not the game for us.
