Level-5's Ni no Kuni: The Another World is, in general, a pretty standard JRPG. However, it's a pretty standard RPG that takes place in a Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Ponyo, Princess Mononoke) world, and is thus magical. It really feels like you're inhabiting a Ghibli movie, from the appearance of swarms of cute little spherical characters to the lush forest environments. The frequent animated cutscenes and the persistent voice acting (every line of text in the demo, whether in a cutscene or spoken in a pop-up text window) is fully voiced, which helps the cinematic feel.

If there's one thing to be thankful for in the face of Capcom's steady stream of Resident Evil games, it's that we've all been given a fairly comprehensive education on the undead blight. We can see a zombie coming a mile away, which presents an odd sense of frustration when the game's own characters fail to do the same. No, that person isn't sick. It's a zombie and it's going to bite your neck off. Just shoot it!The Darkside Chronicles, an instantly familiar follow-up to the Wii's Umbrella Chronicles, often hesitates to pull the trigger. It takes a leisurely stroll when least appropriate and it's slow to react when things do get exciting. You might think that your friends Survival-Horror and On-Rails Shooter would get along just fine, but leave them both in the room while you go to the toilet and it's just awkward silence.

In a world of really crappy Sonic games, I felt that Sonic and the Black Knight was actually quite good. I don’t think it was great, and I don’t think it was the answer to what’s wrong with Sonic in 3d. I do think it was a fun romp, it provided some interesting [...]

Only one Wii title makes it on the list, but it’s very well deserved. I’ve been so hyped for FFCC: The Crystal Bearers, and the news coming out of TGS just makes the wait even worse. It sounds like this game is going to be the real deal, gang. Are you picking [...]

The censorship of Manhunt 2 in North America really made me upset. At first, it didn’t bother me all that much while playing. Then, as the game continued on, I got more and more enraged by the censorship. It was pulling me out of the experience. Looks like the ESRB measures [...]
