This demo set was given out to press at a DJ Hero event, and now there are a few listings on eBay. I’m not too sure Activision wanted these things going out to the public, but the auctions are out there! Keep in mind, this is not the full game, but just a [...]

The troubled sleepers of Insomniac Games want to make sure you play the upcoming Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time. The developers announced during their latest Full Moon Show podcast that the upcoming time-bending platformer will receive not one -- but two -- downloadable demos before the game's release. It certainly makes sense, considering how drastically different the traditional Ratchet gameplay is from the more puzzle-oriented Clank sections of the game. Both demos should hit the PlayStation Store before the game's upcoming late-October release date, giving players plenty of time to explore these free samplers.[Via PS3center]

For those of you holding fast to the hope that you'll get your hands on Square Enix's next MMO, Final Fantasy XIV, before the game's eventual release, it appears as though you'll need to get your hands on a Windows PC first. In a recent interview with Game Watch, FFXIV director Hiromichi Tanaka said the game's beta release will be on PC only.Starting with a closed population of 10,000 people and eventually opening up to the public, the beta could be running at full capacity by as early as Summer 2010, according to Tanaka. Hopefully, by that point we'll be playing Final Fantasy XIII -- in English -- and no longer cracking jokes about FFXIV releasing before XIII ... Hopefully. [Via RPG Site]

Okay, picture this: Ripping off Helios' head ... but from Krato's perspective. Pretty gripping, right? "Genius" even! At least, that's how art director Ken Feldman described his failed pitch for God of War III as an FPS to game director Stig Asmussen. "I tried unsuccessfully to convince Stig to make God of War III a first-person shooter," recounted Feldman in an interview with GSSociety. "Unfortunately, he didn't see the genius in the idea."You know Ken, we're not really seeing it either. But then, true genius is often only recognized in hindsight by us casual thinkers. Now ... if next year's sequel had been "God of War Sports" -- bundled with the Motion Controller? Brilliant![Via MCV]

Next week's Rock Band Weekly wants to take you to a gay bar. A gay bar, gay bar! Yes, Electric Six's "Gay Bar," which inspired a rather popular piece of World of Warcraft machinima (found after the break), makes its way onto the update. Also featured: a three-pack of Raconteurs tracks, along with the most ironic song ever: Alanis Morissette's ... "Ironic." Isn't it ironic that the track doesn't actually feature a single example of irony? Perhaps Morissette meant this to be some sort of "meta" irony (although some may disagree).
