Hmm…looks like Sony may have made some mistakes. The one that really stands out to me is the ‘connect to console’ feature, which they say is something the DS doesn’t do. Pretty sure they’re wrong about that one…as it’s something I was just doing the other day! Thanks to all that sent [...]

A portion of an Aussie Nintendo review: Cookie Shop is a pretty cute game. I mean, you play as a flea-ridden cat with two rotten strawberries stuck to its head - most likely with the dried stomach juices from a hairball that was coughed up while passed out in the tub. This cat wants to run [...]

We know, we know -- you've been sitting patiently on Joystiq for around 50 hours now, constantly hitting refresh in hopes that the newest Modern Warfare 2 trailer from Sunday Night Football would greet your eyes. And here it finally is! Found over on developer Infinity Ward's website, we think you'll be just as shocked as we were to see how much has changed in terms of geography from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Also, shooting from a motorboat! That brings the tally of strange vehicles we'll be firing from up to two! Who could ask for more?Update: Added higher-quality version of the trailer.

Nothing strikes us as more appropriate subject matter for a trailer of Assassin's Creed 2 than a slow and calculated assassination. The subject in question for this particular video is Venetian "titan of industry" Emilio Barbario, a man whose assassination has been planned by the Venetian Thieves Guild for many years. Let's be honest though -- you're just looking to watch Ezio leap precariously around Venice and stab a bunch of dudes. It's fine! So were we! And he does just that. From chimneys, from ledges, from rooftops and flower baskets -- the man knows how to drop fools in style. Peep the walkthrough above and marvel in the frustration that you won't be able to touch the game until November 17.

A portion of a Nintendo Life review… If you’re a Wii owner who really enjoyed the first game you’ll be able to have some fun with this one, just don’t pay full price. If you’ve never played Marvel Ultimate Alliance you’re better off getting the first game which should be easy to find cheaply — you [...]

You know what more games need to have? A hug button. This inspiring innovation is introduced in the gameplay demonstration for A Boy and His Blob seen above. Okay, so maybe an "embrace command" wouldn't pan out too well in, oh, say, Gears of War. Perhaps hugs are rarely appropriate in a video game context, requiring the presence of anthropomorphic gobs of slime to be considered acceptable. We don't really care about all that stuff -- all we know is that our hearts have been warmed to a point where eggs could be scrambled on our bare chests.

So, you've had a little trouble understanding the ins and outs of Brütal Legend's expansive multiplayer mode. Don't be embarrassed -- it's a little difficult to wrap your mind around. Fortunately, Double Fine recently released a trailer explaining the rules, regulations and terms of victory of the epic multiplayer skirmishes in Tim Schafer's heavy metal brainchild. Watch the training video above, and start studying up on your stage-smashing tactics. As a side note, if Double Fine doesn't call this multiplayer mode "GwarCraft," we might just boycott the game.

Are you an Atlus devotee who somehow snagged an early copy of this Tuesday's release of Demon's Souls for the PS3? If you do happen to be one of these folks, you might want to head over to the medicine cabinet and grab a chill pill, as Atlus says that nothing is wrong with the lack of connectivity to its North American servers, they just haven't been turned on yet. Specifically, Atlus says, "What this means is that users that might manage to pick the game up early and start it up will get an immediate PSN error and have to start playing offline." Sure, you could shed a few tears and swear off the publisher forever, but look at it this way -- now you'll have two secret days of soul collecting to rub in your friends faces when the servers go live this Tuesday. Hooray!Gallery: Demon's Souls

Our friend Jeremy Parish has just put together a love-letter to 2d gaming, and he’s chosen Shantae as the star of the show. I am so happy to see people picking up on this game, and it’s very clear that Mr. Parish is excited about the game. He also happens to believe that [...]

I don't have a DSi or the original copy of Shantae.
Both games looks good. Makes me sad.

No, GoNintendo are independent from Nintendo.

Our fingers have turned to goopy nubs as a result of our transcription of the Achievements and Trophies in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. We didn't keep an exact tally of the accomplishments therein, but we're fairly certain the total number approaches eight skajillion. You'll find the efforts of our toils listed after the jump -- be wary, there are a few minor spoilers in there. For instance, at some point during the game, you kill a bunch of terrorists.
