For those who've had trouble hearing the Call of Juarez over the much louder Call of Saving Money, we've got some good news: GameStop has lowered the price of the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions of Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood to a paltry $30. For those keeping score, that's $20 off the PC version and a full $30 shot off the PS3 and 360 versions. Not bad for a game hailed by critics as a "gritty, completely entertaining experience." [Thanks, CJ]

A portion of a USA today review: The first notable difference is a superb, vibrant presentation. Early imagery from the game evokes iconic memories of the band, from Paul McCartney’s head shake to fans crying and screaming wildly in the audience. As the game advances to their Abbey Road recordings, the images become more colorful and [...]

Over at Capcom Unity, they're polling individuals on what they would like to see in a localized version of the recently revealed Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition. In Japan, the title is coming on a new disc to the retail space, but Capcom is still entertaining different delivery solutions for North America and Europe, namely digital distribution as DLC for the original game. Since Capcom's had success with the Versus add-on and recent digital wares such as SSF2THD and Marvel vs Capcom 2, it's willing to go that route if the demand is high enough. So Capcom put up a poll and, if you want your voice heard, we suggest you make with the clickings. As for tangible, things-you-can-see-in-front-of-you-right-now news, we'd like to direct your attention to GAME Watch. The site's put up some screens from the new "Lost in Nightmares" mission that takes us back in time to the classic team's jaunt through the Spencer Mansion and, as you can see above, Jill's defense of her status as the Master of Unlocking.Source - Capcom asks: What do you want in RE5: Alternative Edition?Source - New screens from GAME Watch

Microsoft has announced that several new titles will soon be joining the ranks of the Xbox 360's budget priced Platinum Hits line. The new additions include some seriously heavy hitters, namely Grand Theft Auto IV, Street Fighter IV, Left 4 Dead, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Saints Row 2. Microsoft's announcement (oh so conveniently) neglected to mention prices for any of the titles, but a quick check around the ol' internet points to a price of $29.99 for most of the new additions (though SFIV curiously seems pegged around $40 for the moment). We should also point out that while these are some legitimately great games, both SFIV and Force Unleashed are receiving upgraded, budget versions in the near future -- Ultimate Sith Edition later this year and Super Street Fighter IV in early 2010. It's also worth noting Left 4 Dead is receiving a full-blown sequel only a month from now. Microsoft has also announced that retailers will be offering a "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" promotion for Xbox 360 Platinum Hits through October 31, though the release makes no mention of which retailers are doing so. We've contacted Microsoft for more information on the promotion.

We like Nintendo because it frequently makes video games we like to play, on systems we like to play them on. But how do business people -- the folks who don't see companies as entities that provide products or services, so much as numbers that go up and down in their stock portfolios -- feel about Nintendo? According to BusinessWeek's list of "The World's Best Companies," pretty great! Nintendo is ranked first on the list of 40 companies with "a commitment to innovation, diversified portfolios, aggressive expansion, strong leadership, and a clear vision for the future," based on a metric involving growth rate and percentage of business done outside of the company's home region. In second and third place: Google and Apple.
