There’s a developer blog update for Flipper, the DSiWare title from Goodbye Galaxy Games. This blog update has to do with game pricing… I’ve been looking in to some other things as well regarding the Flipper projects. One of them is the price point. I wanted it be 200 points, badly. Even though the game [...]

200 point ($2) games would be awesome, I hope Nintendo doesn't put stupid restrictions on the developers. And why would the filesize of the game have anything to do with it?

"Xbox comes from a gaming heritage, and is expanding into a broader entertainment brand," Microsoft's Robbie Bach told us earlier today at its first Open House event in New York. Powering Xbox's expansion into "broader entertainment" is the upcoming Dashboard update, scheduled for beta release later this month. Four services included in the update will expand the 360's social networking and multimedia capabilities: Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm and Zune Marketplace. While each individual service may not offer the same value that Netflix did when it debuted with the NXE last year, it's hard to ignore the breadth of added functionality offered by this new Dashboard refresh. Yes, it's true that the Xbox isn't the most ideal platform to tweet from. And yes, it's unlikely that you'll spend hours sitting in front of your TV listening to online radio. However, each service adds new reason to stay connected to the Xbox ... and adds more purported "value" to that Xbox Live Gold membership.

U.S. News and World Report has put together a list of 10 retailers that they say are bucking the recession trend, and GameStop has managed to find its way into the article. There’s no doubt that GameStop is doing really well, even if sales are going down. I am really wondering what’s going [...]

We can't seem to stop waffling on Epic Mickey. At the start, Warren Spector's involvement was enough to pique our interest. But we couldn't help but be a bit disappointed to see that Wii exclusivity might keep the game from being the graphical masterpiece we'd hoped for. But now, after reading a few details about the game scooped up by Eurogamer, we're right back on board. The game reportedly revolves around forgotten Disney characters who, after years of being, ignored have grown bitter. None more so than Walt's first cartoon creation, Oswald the Rabbit. He's the one who spread all of the evil black goo around that you see above. Mickey will apparently have to use paint, thinner and erasers to draw his way through the world, which makes the Wii exclusivity a lot easier to understand. Okay, so the black goo all over the world isn't the most original, but disgruntled Disney characters trying to wipe out Mickey? How cool does that sound? (P.S. Captain EO as a villain. We demand it.)

The trademark above is from Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner. What in the world could this be for? It’s related to video games, but is this going to be a title that ties into the movie that’s in the works? This is definitely a trademark to keep a close watch on. [...]

You would assume, perhaps wisely, that a Persona 4 postmortem would refer to performing an autopsy on a poor soul who died of old age while trying to finish the epically long RPG. But all we've got for you today is the game's creators discussing the highs and lows of development with Gamasutra. As is usual, the "lows" are actually just the difficult parts of designing the game rather than what didn't work about the title, but it's still worth a read to see how Atlus tackled the Herculean task of creating a 100-hour game that at least some of you lived to see the end of.

The adorable art style of Capybara Games' PSN puzzle title Critter Crunch can't be contained within the boundaries of its own franchise. A recent post on the developers' blog shows off a number of doodles from the game's character artist, Nick "Qiqo" Stephan. These illustrations peer through temporal doorways into other worlds, where Biggs, the game's protagonist, was dressed in the skin of characters from other PlayStation titles. (Okay, it's less creepy than we just made it sound.) Check out all 15 of these concepts after the jump -- we guarantee that you've never such a lovable Kratos. (Sackboy, eat your heart out.)
