When is the GG series of games going to come out in North America?! They seem like the perfect use of the DSiWare avenue. Let’s hope that someone decides to localize these titles.

Yep, another knock-off system. This fake PSPgo comes packed with emulators for the NES, SNES, Game Boy, Genesis and more. Will people ever get tired of emulating old games?

Attention virtual pilots: New DLC for IL-2 Sturmovik is now available on Xbox Live and PSN. The DLC adds six new missions to the game, one for each theatre. Also included in the pack is a new plane to fly, the American P47D. According to the Xbox Live Marketplace description -- though curiously absent from the press release -- the pack also adds the German Ta 152 H-1. The mission pack DLC will set you back 400 or $4.99 on Xbox Live and PSN, respectively.

I don’t know why CVS seems to be the haven for Wii rip-offs. I guess it’s because no one expects to find a ton of video game-related goodies at CVS! Thanks to mbh911 for the heads up.

Yesterday, SCEA announced a partnership with Amazon.com to sell PSN codes through the online retailer. We chatted with Eric Lempel about the deal and how it came to fruition. Lempel revealed to us that the program had been in the works long before Amazon started selling XBLM codes, and said that Sony would be "looking into" offering direct access to the PlayStation Store on the web. Read on for more.Joystiq: Is Amazon.com an exclusive retail partner with Sony, or will we see this program expand to other retailers?Eric Lempel: Amazon offers a lot of great benefits, but we're definitely open to exploring other retailers in the channel. There's nothing exclusive about this. If it makes sense, and works for both sides, yeah, we'd definitely be open to exploring this with other retail partners.Which party was responsible for getting the project rolling? Was it Sony, or was it Amazon? We have a lot of meetings with [Amazon] on a regular basis, because they are one of our customers for all of the physical product. So, we're talking with them all the time. I've been in meetings with them for years, so I can't really say who brought this up but we've all been talking about this for a long time. And I will say we've been talking about this way before the Xbox integration as well, so it wasn't one of these, "Hey, we're doing this, do you guys want to do this as well?" We've thought about this, we've been talking about it. We've kind of had to get the right timing where all of us can do the implementation. We thought now would be a great time just in light of PSP Go being released and the surge of digital content that's become available over the last few months.

“I’d like to get involved in video games, since I really love Wii Fit. I think it would be a great idea to incorporate choreography, because, for me, my workout is way more fun when it involves dancing, as opposed to running on a boring treadmill. So I would love to do some [...]

Remember Last Flight, the WiiWare vampires-on-a-plane game from Nibris expats Bloober Team? Sebastian from Any Given Gamer did, noticing a Tweet from executive producer Marcin Kawa that sort of indirectly referred to the game. He guessed that it meant news about Last Flight would be on the way, and he was right!Bloober Team sent out some screenshots today! The last time we saw the game was over a year ago and just as concept art, so we're thrilled to see actual screens of food critic Larry Adelman taking out some vampires. In a fact sheet, Bloober Team outlined the game's motion-based slashing: each hand is mapped to either the Wiimote or Nunchuk, and moving the controller swings the weapon. The game is being divided into four episodes, to make it "as accessible and affordable as possible." According to Bloober Team, the game is comparable to a boxed Wii release, but the bite-sized purchases remove a barrier to entry for people not sure about buying a game from a new team. Perhaps the most surprising news: Eurogamer says that the game will be out this year!

The Uncharted 2: Among Thieves multiplayer demo has only been out for a week, but it's already attracted a large following of money-hungry murderers. Evan Wells of developer Naughty Dog has posted up some compelling (non-beta) stats: Total Number of games played: 1,217,424 Total Number of Kills: 92,110,787 Total Number of Treasures Captured: 1,860,645 Total Amount of Money Earned: $38,841,367,350 Total Time Played: 9,905 days (or 27+ years!) It'll be interesting to see these figures compared to those numbers produced by the retail game -- launching next week -- after its first seven days in service. Uncharted 2 has already become a critical favorite, and soon we'll see if Naughty Dog's game can convert all that in-game "money earned" into real-world doubloons ... Although, $38 billion in sales does seem a bit unrealistic.

Looks like there were two high-profile games being tossed around by EA, but with neither idea picking up steam, these projects have been left in the dust. It’s a shame to see this, because I would have loved to see both projects! It sounds like there might be some hope for Mutant League [...]
