A keen-eyed NeoGAF user by the name of goldsoundz noticed a startling billboard in his home town of Shreveport, Louisiana -- splayed out on the massive overhead placard is the logo for the heretofore unannounced next installment in Insomniac Games' PS3 shooter franchise, Resistance 3. Goldsoundz explained that Shreveport is a popular spot for film shoots, and that the ad was to be incorporated in a film titled Battle: Los Angeles, which is due out in early 2011. By that timeline, it makes sense that Insomniac could slap another game together by the film's theatrical debut -- still, seeing gargantuan promotions for a game that hasn't been formally announced (or discussed) is a bit surprising. Certainly more surprising than a potential announcement for Resistance 3, because, come on, of course there's gonna be a Resistance 3. [Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

Remember back when the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers were really popular, and they were simply the ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’? Not too long after that, they started adding in all sorts of other weird ranger groups, and the name eventually became twice the size of the original. Man…I was way too old to [...]

A portion of a Tech-Gaming review… With a budget price of $29.99, a condensed rules set, and ten mini-games, Family Fun Football is certainly an intriguing option for Wii-owning households.

The Commodore 64 side of the Virtual Console doesn’t get a lot of love, and that’s looking from both the Nintendo and customer side. It just doesn’t seem like anyone is really interested in that part of emulation. It’s a shame, because there really are some great games for the platform. SimCity [...]

You guys remember Spelunker, right? It’s on the Virtual Console…and it’s extremely frustrating! It’s one of those games that I find terrible, but can’t stop playing.

We're not gonna lie to you -- we take every opportunity we can to write about games involving landsharks. It shouldn't be a shock, then, that we're bringing you news on Interstellar Marines this morning, as the game's official website now allows for a much closer inspection of said terrifying creatures. Truth be told, entering "The Vault" allows for little more than an interactive, 3D, self-guided walkthrough of a single screen from the trailer we saw a few months back. It promises more, with three still-locked gates with timers on them (two for a bit under a week, one for just under two weeks) on the periphery of the "experience." Here's hoping one of those three will reveal a projected release date for the nearly four-year-old, still-in-development game from Zero Point Software. We'd really like to try our hand at some landshark wranglin'.

Now you can actually go hands-on with the Tony Hawk: RIDE board at your local GameStop. This new display lets you run your grubby mitts all over the board…but that’s about it. You can’t actually demo the game, or take the board off of that display, for that matter. Seems like a [...]

Looks like there were some fundamental differences between the final retail version of Shadowrun, and the beta version. Recently, the beta version of the game turned up, and now we’re getting to see just what changes were made. If you’re interested in seeing how the two versions differ, check out more details here.

We can only imagine the meeting at Vicarious Visions where the development team behind Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2's DLC was arranged. "Well, we've already got Spider-Man and Venom, but we really feel like the game's still lacking in the Spider-Man spinoff department -- what about that other Spider-Man guy?" And thus, Carnage enters the fray as the game's first downloadable character. Known for his stint in the super-violent Spider-Man mini-series "Maximum Carnage" and, um, that SNES game we played so long ago, Carnage will assuredly lend an over-the-top je ne sais quoi to MUA2's proceedings. We're not exactly sure what happens when you pair him with Spider-Man and Venom on screen, but we worry they might get eaten by Carnage, which could be really awkward.

The PSP is home to some unexpected shooter revivals. Thexder was just released on PSN, R-Type returned -- as a strategy game! -- and there's even a new Cho Aniki. Compared to those random releases, the announcement of a new Darius isn't too shocking. But it is very welcome. The trailer for Darius Burst seems to hit the highlights of the Darius experience -- namely, spaceships and giant robot versions of aquatic creatures. And it looks hot. Hot enough to send us back through the series in anticipation of the December 24 Japanese release, and for us to send our sincerest wishes to Taito parent company Square Enix. Sell this to us!

Well, Darius fans haven't exactly been anticipating a new title, since G. Darius (a deliberately obvious anagram of its' main competitor) was released during the hayday of the PS1.
