A portion of a Nintendojo review… Scooby-Doo! First Frights is a licensed title that takes its cue, perhaps too unabashedly, from an already-popular franchise. Yet it deserves props for not only doing it well, but also delivering some nice storylines through its license. Fans of the Scooby-Doo! universe will find this a nice pick-up, especially those [...]

EA Mexico had an interesting way to promote The Beatles: Rock Band. They held a promo contest where they asked fans to creation their own Beatles-themed animations. Below you can see the winner of the contest, which I think turned out quite well! Direct link here (thanks Wookie!)

This isn’t the only time I’ve heard of Scribblenauts freezing up, but now our friend mbh911 has caught a picture of the freeze in action. This particular one happened when entering the ‘ollar store’, but I’ve seen many others that crop up during actual gameplay. I think the game is sometimes too awesome [...]

According to the ESRB, Chronos Twin is also hitting the DSi in some form. We know that game is coming to WiiWare, and it already hit the DS in Europe. Could there be a DSi/DSiWare version on the way as well? Thanks to ZRK for the heads up.

Direct link here You know what’s amazing about this video? I could actually make out everything. While I’m sure it would be a tad hard to play, I think this video goes a long way to show that graphics really aren’t everything.

It is with much necessary reservation that we bring you the two purported Left 4 Dead 2 campaign posters for "Dead Center" and "Hard Rain" that you see above, completing the set of five campaign missions. Found over on Taiwanese website GNN, we're highly skeptical of their veracity for the time being, but felt their quality at least bared mention -- if this isn't real thing, it's damn impressive. Being Danny Doubters though, we're still a bit thrown by consistency differences when compared to the game's other three posters. We've sent a note to Valve for comment, so until we hear back, the images will remain strictly in our "unconfirmed" pile. In the meantime, ponder this: "Dead Center" translated by Google from Mandarin Chinese is "Death Marketplace." Fact![Thanks, Lockwolf!]

The confusion over whether or not BioWare's second space opera, Mass Effect 2, is coming to the PlayStation 3 has been a fiasco of epic proportions. We've heard plenty of rumor and speculation supporting both sides of the heated debate, but as the game's release draws nearer, more savory indications of the game's possible Sony-bound trajectory have surfaced -- namely, a listing on the EA Russia site for a PS3 version of the upcoming RPG. Gaming news site Just Push Start also noticed the PS3 installment on the site of an Australian game retailer called, appropriately, GAME. We put more stock in the EA Russia listing, though we suppose the publishing giant is no stranger to sending mixed signals when speaking about the exclusivity of the Mass Effect series. We've contacted EA and BioWare to find out what the deal is.

A keen-eyed NeoGAF user by the name of goldsoundz noticed a startling billboard in his home town of Shreveport, Louisiana -- splayed out on the massive overhead placard is the logo for the heretofore unannounced next installment in Insomniac Games' PS3 shooter franchise, Resistance 3. Goldsoundz explained that Shreveport is a popular spot for film shoots, and that the ad was to be incorporated in a film titled Battle: Los Angeles, which is due out in early 2011. By that timeline, it makes sense that Insomniac could slap another game together by the film's theatrical debut -- still, seeing gargantuan promotions for a game that hasn't been formally announced (or discussed) is a bit surprising. Certainly more surprising than a potential announcement for Resistance 3, because, come on, of course there's gonna be a Resistance 3. [Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

If you were listening to this post being read on the non-existent "Joystiq Posts on Cassette" series, you'd probably hear us have a bit of trouble. The press release which we recently received announcing the TopWare Interactive and Black Wing Foundation-developed third-person shooter Scivelation included a number of details about the title, but sadly, no audible pronunciation guide. For the record, we're going with "Siv-uh-lay-shun." The title features a generic-ish plot dealing with evil dictatorships and stalwart resistance movements in a dystopian future -- we've chosen to turn to the portfolios of the title's creators for more insight into its quality. Black Wing Foundation made Stalin vs. The Martians, which is completely magical. TopWare worked on X-Blades, which committed violent crimes against our intellegence. We expect Scivelation to fall somewhere in between. [Via Big Download]
