We hope you like watching people exercise, because that's about all there is on the Nintendo Channel this week. Outside of that, there's also a look at Miis in Tony Hawk Ride and a brief clip of Space Invaders Extreme 2, if that's your cup of tea. (Protip: It's totally your cup of tea. You drink it all of the time.)

After five years in the making and hardly any time taken out for interviews or status updates, you'd imagine Digi-Guys' WarDevil would be just about wrapped up and ready to grab some GOTY awards, right? Not so much, as Edge discovered during a studio tour. Although Digi-Guys does have some very cool technology to show off, that may eventually result in a game. To prove the effectiveness of the developer's mysterious texture technology, Digi-Guys gave Edge a demonstration of the game engine as it was in 2005 -- running on an Xbox. The first one. "So what you'd expect to see even in modern games - textures that turn to porridge if you look too close - doesn't happen here," Edge notes. "Then there's motion blur, of the kind seen in Jurassic Park rather than the harsh, sometimes nauseating vector blur used in modern games. Add to that many of the light and particle effects you'd expect to see today, and a healthy layer of anti-aliasing." Another demo on more recent hardware is similarly impressive, showing high detail in skin and clothing as the camera zooms in. Evidently, this version of WarDevil was actually playable behind closed doors at Tokyo Game Show -- and not, like the Xbox demo, in a placeholder rail shooter mode. And that is progress.

We highlight some of the big changes in store for Wii's next Naruto fighter.

click for Savage Moon: The Hera Campaign gallery Usually, when games head to a mobile platform from a home console they, by necessity, tend to get pared down. But it sounds like just the opposite is happening with the PSP version of PSN tower defense game Savage Moon. For The Hera Campaign, you'll now additionally have the option to access the Tactical Layer, a zoomed out view of the action that casts you as the Supreme Commander of the armada, deciding how and where resources will be used in the humans' fight against the Insectocytes. If you're interested in the plot of the new campaign (incomprehensible to the Savage Moon neophytes among us) you're gonna need to read for yourself.

While we think of Mastiff as the publisher of random niche games like La Pucelle and Technic Beat (and the occasional more mainstream game like Moon), the publisher has started to carve out a little empire in Wii outdoor sports games, with Deer Drive, Shimano Xtreme Fishing and now Remington Great American Bird Hunt. You can see some screens in our gallery below, and decide whether you'll be up for a Great American Bird Hunt with up to three friends next month. And now, we get to the real business of this post: the old, hilarious, but sadly unused box art for Ultimate Duck Hunting, which we're always in search of even the flimsiest excuse to post. You'll find it after the break.

Update: We've confirmed with Major Nelson that Sorry! should have been priced at 400 as well. The price will be updated on XBLM "very soon." . Just a quick reminder here to let everyone know that this week's XBLM Deal of the Week is discounted prices for nearly all of the Hasbro Family Game Night collection on Xbox Live Arcade. All this week, Gold Live members can pick up Boggle, Scrabble, Battleship, Yahtzee, Sorry! Sliders or Connect 4 for 400 ($5) each (half off the usual 800). Curiously, one game, the original Sorry!, has not been discounted and remains at 800. Still, if you've been waiting for a reason to pick up one of the other titles, this week looks like a good time to take the plunge. How it is that a company as business savvy as Activision misses the staring-them-right-in-the-face opportunity to name a kart racing-themed Madagascar game "Madagaskartz," rather than Madagascar Kartz, is beyond us. However, that's just what the company has named its upcoming kart racer starring the cast of the eponymous movie coming to current-gen consoles on October 27th. Worried that the game might only be for kidz? Activision's David Oxford claims the game was designed for all ages, saying, "With the whole family competing against each other as their favorite zoosters, you have never seen action this wild." Clearly Mr. Oxford doesn't know about our weekend trip to Tijuana a month back.
