A Boy and His Blob tells the story of an extra-terrestrial, amorphous lifeform and his young handler as they combat an evil emperor, hellbent on doing what all evil emperors want to do: kill most and rule over what's left. The only thing standing in this extreme evildoer's way is the boy's willingness to feed the Blob different jellybeans, which cause him -- it? -- to transform into different shapes, thereby overcoming the game's many obstacles. After playing the game for a bit, it became clear that I was going to have to give up my need to solve the game's puzzles unsupervised. See, A Boy and His Blob thought that I would be far better off if it held my hand. [Note: This review also comes with this complimentary video. Enjoy!]

Scott surprised me with something a little different this time around. He hit me up with Comic 9, and it happens to be the start of an adventure for Kirby! I want to make clear that this is the kickoff of a series that Scott will be doing. A bit of episodic [...]

click to enlarge It's possible that you'll be put off by Death by Cube when you notice the phrase "twin stick shooter" in its description; however, quick-to-judge players will miss out on one of the most creative titles in the genre's recent history. While Death by Cube doesn't revolutionize an overdone genre, Square Enix has provided one of the more memorable experiences I've had on XBLA since first playing Geometry Wars.

Before a game is really, totally announced, you've got to keep an eye out for little hints that it may be on the way. Take, for instance, the sequel to inFamous that may or may not exist. We already knew developer Sucker Punch was looking to add an artist familiar with the "urban style" that figured prominently in the first inFamous game. Now, actor David Sullivan has tweeted (as spotted by G4) that he's being considered for the role of Cole, which he says is being recast for a sequel. You may know Sullivan from the indie hit Primer, or as the subject of actor Jason Cottle's forthcoming book, Job Stealers I Totally Hate.

I popped over to GamePro’s website to see what was going on, and was greeted with a new ‘4th wall’ intro for Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. It’s very much in-line with what Nintendo of Europe has been doing with their website. Just be careful if you go for a visit. [...]

I have to start by being brutally honest with you: Brütal Legend is not the game I hoped it would be. As a huge fan of director, designer and writer Tim Schafer's body of work - especially Double Fine's debut effort, Psychonauts - I had prepared myself for a wonderfully written, laugh-out-loud funny, constantly surprising experience filled with compelling characters that would have me grinning in anticipation of where it was taking me next. What I came away with after beating the game in about six hours (granted, I didn't embark on many of the battle- and racing-based sub-missions, but I did do quite a lot of exploring) was the opinion that Eddie Riggs is a truly awesome character, along with a sense of wonder at the fantastic - and very metal - world Schafer and crew had created. Unfortunately, I also came away with a questioning of why so much of the game felt like a b-side to the hit single that had been its first couple of hours.

A portion of a MonroeWorld review… Anyone who loves pinball simply must own this game. Frankly, it’s my favorite DSiWare game at this point and the best realistic pinball I’ve played on the DS to date (with Metroid Prime Pinball a close second as a “fantasy pinball” title). If you loved Metroid, you’ll love this. If [...]

We know a little something about adorable, so believe us when we say that this is, by far, the cutest, cuddliest Warthog we have ever seen. Created by flux83, the car is modified Power Wheels Chevy Silverado. It comes complete with custom windshield, hubcaps, chain gun and even the Warthog's trademark tusks. Check out a video of the Warthog in action after the break. While you watch, ponder what it's like growing up with a father whose hobby is making awesome Power Wheels mods. Luckiest. Kid. Ever.
