Zen Studios, most notable for Zen Pinball, Pinball FX and, strangely, The Punisher: No Mercy, has announced a new title for the Playstation Network. Entitled Planet Minigolf, we're guessing it strays closer to the pinball camp than the killing-bad-guys camp. The game is set to feature 144 holes of mini-golf spread among "several exhilarating courses around the world," complete with plenty of "crazy, obstacles." You'll be able to choose between six customizable characters. Planet Minigolf also features online multiplayer for up to six players, as well as a local "hotseat" mode, weekly tournaments and global competitions. A release date has yet to be announced. Oh, and Zen Studios also claims that the game will allow players to "embrace a brand new standard in realistic ball physics." We have nothing to add to that; it just needed to be written.

The machine will sell for $349, which is just $50 more than the $299, 120GB model. 50 bucks for an extra 100GB ain't too bad, considering Microsoft's hard disk pricing.There's still not a peep about whether we can expect any of the 250GB bundles other territories will be getting here in the States, but we're activating full-on Pester Mode, target: SCEA.
