Tecmo Koei opened a teaser site for the new North Star Musou, featuring a brief clip of in-game action. If you're familiar with either Fist of the North Star or the Dynasty Warriors games, you know exactly what to expect: a little post-apocalyptic Mad Max-esque wasteland, and one giant guy exploding a horde of identical thugs with his bare fists and feet. The combination of these two licenses is doing a pretty good job of renewing our interest in both!See the footage after the break. If you squint, it kind of looks like a high-definition God Hand sequel. [Via Andriasang]

While Americans who purchase the God of War Blu-ray Collection and the Japanese gamers who pick up Infamous will be spending the harsh winter of 2009 behind the helm of a demo for God of War III, our European pals won't be so lucky. Sony recently confirmed to Eurogamer that the sneak preview of the Grecian action title wouldn't appear in the region until 2010. Yes, unless you check out God of War III at the Eurogamer Expo in late October (or import one of the two games listed above), you'll have to do without this holiday season. Don't worry, you should be able to live vicariously through our highly exuberant tweets.

We'd never heard of most of the games in this week's European Wii/DSi Shop update. While that could point to shovelware, we prefer to think of it as surprises. Until we find out for sure that it's all shovelware, at least.Heron: Steam Machine is a really promising-sounding name for a game that turns out to be a pretty familiar puzzle trope, but with rubber ducks added. Not herons. Little Tournament Over Yonder is a cutesy strategy game. and Viking Invasion on DSiWare is tower defense. Wakugumi is an interesting puzzle game in which you move black and white squares around to create unbroken loops, capturing the opposite-color squares inside. And Super Return of the Jedi is a backgammon game. Or a side-scrolling action game based on the movie. One of those. Heron: Steam Machine (WiiWare, 1-4 players, 500 Wii Points) Little Tournament Over Yonder (WiiWare, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points) Super Return of the Jedi (SNES, 1 player, 800 Wii Points) Viking Invasion (DSiWare, 1 player, 800 DSi Points) Wakugumi - Monochrome Puzzle (DSiWare, 1 player, 500 DSi Points)

Alright, look. We've tried to remain as impartial as possible in the undying debate of Aliens vs. Predator, but we think the winner of this struggle is clear. Sure, Predators have cloaking devices and wrist-mounted swords, and humans have ... well, inimitable pluck, we guess. However, Aliens possess fanged proboscises. Sorry, other guys, but acid-coated tongue-jaws are an impossible act to follow. You can see the Aliens' strengths in action in the latest trailer for the Sega's AvP, posted above. For reasons which will become clear to you upon viewing, we've affectionately titled the video "Aliens vs. Predator: Sorry About Your Face." [Thanks, Ikarop.]

Over at IndustryGamers, everyone's favorite video game predicterer (we're still working on that one) Michael Pachter has taken the reigns of the site and offers his own extensive diatribe on the future of Sony and Microsoft's upcoming new tech: Project Natal and the PlayStation Motion Controller (rumored to be called Sphere). Pachter's assertion is that price will be Natal's biggest selling point and Microsoft will try to expand upon its market of established Xbox 360 owners by offering the device for $50. For Sony's doodad, Pachter says the company is "trying to create an answer to the success of the Wii." Pachter even likens the future state of a Natal-enabled Xbox 360 to the current state of the iPhone -- with features like Twitter, Netflix, Last.fm and Facebook inside Microsoft's box and its intuitive inteface, he says casual or non-playing members of Xbox 360 households will become interested. And then when it's bundled with all new Xbox 360s, he says that'll expand Microsoft's reach even more. The PlayStation Motion Controller has a steeper hill to climb up to release, as Pachter notes that more hardware will cause Sony to demand more cash for the setup. He says he'd be surprise if the price was over $100, and stresses that both Microsoft and Sony need to keep "the consumer's cost relatively low in order to achieve broad penetration."[Update: Corrected Pachter's belief that the motion controller would be no more than $100. We sincerely apologize for the misinterpretation and the consequent misinformation.]
