Have you ever heard of ‘Domo-kun’s Mysterious Television’? Well, if you download one of the 5 available DSiWare Domo-kun titles that were put up today, you now own part of that game. Domo-kun’s Mysterious Television was a title released for the GBA back in 2002, and now that title has been chopped up for DSiWare [...]

When you see this scene represented as a piece of knitting, it doesn’t look so deadly, does it?! I bet the Goomba is feeling a tad upset with the situation, though.

Joystiq had a chance to sit down with Ruffian Games' lead designer, Steve Iannetta, to discuss everything from new concepts and features in Crackdown 2, the media's reaction to the RealTime Worlds "controversy" and evolving the co-operative world of Pacific City.

Update: A Microsoft representative has contacted us to say that the bundle will be shipping on November 10. As the bundle includes a retail copy of the game, Microsoft is unable to allow these to ship any earlier, meaning those who pre-ordered from the sites mentioned below will likely be waiting a few days before their bundle arrives. Sorry, folks! We can't say that we were exactly taken aback to find out a couple of online retailers are listing the upcoming Modern Warfare 2-paired 250GB Xbox 360 launch as November 10, the same day the game arrives at retailers nationwide. An eagle-eyed reader at Joystiq sister site Engadget spotted the bundle at both Amazon and Costco (GameStop also has the Nov. 10 ship date listed), where the details re-confirm the bundle's lack of a component cable (for shame!). We've contacted Activision to make sure we're not being led astray, but it'd be hard to expect those willing to shell out the 399 clams for the bundle to have to wait to get their fool-shootin' on.Source 1 - AmazonSource 2 - CostcoSource 3 - GameStop

In an effort to keep lowering our continuously growing stack of Swag Saturday giveaway prizes, this week we're offering a seemingly random combination of Katamari Forever and Warhawk. Our reasoning seemed sound at the time: give the Joystiq BioMass[TM] something old and something new, nothing borrowed, and no one will be blue. ...Okay, so we just wanted to give away a couple of PS3 games and those were the first two that we picked up. Are you happy? Are you?! Tell us exactly how happy you are with this week's swag selection in the comments below (negativity and snark will get you nowhere!) and we'll pick one of you at random to receive both games. Leave a comment telling us exactly how happy you are with this week's swag selection. You must be 18 years or older and a resident of the US or Canada (excluding Quebec, presumably due to an aberration in the Large Hadron Collider) Limit 1 entry per person per day This entry period ends at 9:01PM ET on Sunday, October 18 At that time, we'll randomly select one winner to receive Katamari Forever ($50 ARV) and Warhawk ($30 ARV) For a list of complete rules, click here Gallery: Warhawk

The night of All Hallows' Eve is swiftly approaching. We're sure that, by now, you've got a rough outline of what pop culture icon you'll attempt to disguise yourself as. We're also sure that it's not one-tenth as awesome nor as intricate as the Covenant Elite (of Halo fame) costume recently created by YouTube user petemander1. That is, unless your Optimus Prime costume has animatronic, remote-controlled eyes and mandibles. No? It doesn't? That's what we thought. Check out the two videos posted after the jump to get an early look at Pete's humbling (and slightly terrifying) creation. We'd say we can't wait to see how the full costume turns out, but we've already got plenty of subjects on which to base our nightmares.

“I can confirm this limited edition tin will be available as an exclusive pre-order gift while stocks last from Game from the 26th October.” - Nintendo UK rep Looks like Gamestation’s claims of the tin being ‘exclusive’ weren’t really that well researched. Now UK gamers have two options to get the tin!

Don't get too angry when the discussion about From Software's 3D Dot Game Heroes centers around classic Zelda. It's plainly obvious from this new trailer (after the break) that From is not only being totally up front about the game's inspiration, but inviting comparisons. The introductory story sequence, the environments, and even the music strongly recall Nintendo's flagship adventure series. But From has done a great job of making something that doesn't just appeal to our nostalgia -- we're just as excited about this game on its own merits. We're ready to start upgrading our swords to ridiculous extremes. Not that nostalgia isn't an important part of it! Blogger Maxell011 (via GameSetWatch) pointed out the game's loading screens, which remake famous game boxes in Dot Game Heroes style. That Castlevania (above, with the original box) homage might be enough to sell a few copies.

This way to the Waypoint gallery With the Xbox 360 Fall Dashboard update preview kicking off today, Microsoft dropped some more details on Halo Waypoint, the Dashboard playpen for the Master Chief enthusiasts among you. The preview video - found after the break - walks you through some of the destination's functionality, notably the "career system" which will track "in-game accomplishments across multiple Halo games." Unsurprisingly, that career will be limited to the Xbox 360-released Halo games: Halo 3, Halo Wars, Halo 3: ODST, and "all Game Add-on content for those titles." Oh, you beat Halo 2 in under 30 minutes? We'll just have to take your word for it. Halo Waypoint is being developed collaboratively by Microsoft's internal Halo studio, 343 Industries, and Certain Affinity, the Austin-based developer (with some former Bungie staffers) behind Age of Booty. Waypoint will be available November 5 for both Xbox Live Gold and Silver members; however, come November 26 those Silver members will have to pony up for Live if they want to keep their Waypoint access. That's a solid three weeks to determine if the exclusive Waypoint offerings - like the Nov. 7. preview of the "Halo Legends" anime anthology - are worth it. We imagine it will be for the hardcore Halo fan ... but we'd assume they've already got a Gold account.
