Man, when is Europe going to get over this whole soccer thing? Not only do they love the real-life sport to an unhealthy degree, often leading to gang formation and general acts of hooliganism, but they also possess a collective, soul-crushing addiction for the game's many virtual representations. For instance, Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 debuted in the top sales spot for UK last week, bumping former first-place finisher FIFA 10 down to third place. Nestled betwixt these two was Forza Motorsports 3, which admittedly has little to do with soccer. Fourth and fifth place went to Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games and WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 respectively, which have even less to do with soccer -- though the appearance of a wrestling game in the top five gives us hope for the nation. Now there's a sport. Source -- PES 2010 Scores All Formats No1 [Chart Track] Source -- All formats chart [Chart Track]

Looks like there’s a lot of wackiness coming from the ‘Henry’ trailer for No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle. We’ve seen the batarang and decapitated head flying about…but how about a car crashing through a window, a weird robot girl, and another strange robot!

It's rare that we hear anything but doe-eyed optimism from publishers of yet-to-be-released games -- however, Activision's Kai Huang, co-creator of the Guitar Hero franchise, recently voiced some fairly realistic expectations for the upcoming disc-spinning rhythm title, DJ Hero. "We're expecting this to be the type of game that may come out of the gate a little bit slower, but continue to grow over time," Huang explained during a speech at the PLAY Digital Media Conference in Berkeley. Huang mentioned that while overall sales will be bolstered by the Hero part of the game's moniker, the DJ portion may scare potential players off -- causing Activision to focus on in-store demos to push the product on passersby. If we were unenlightened of DJ Hero's existence, we'd probably be snared by the siren call of the demo unit's mash-up of "Hollaback Girl" and "Give it to Me." Curse you, Stefani/James! [Via VG247]

We've heard sly references and seen mysterious job listings indicating that Xbox 360 and PS3 owners would soon know the joy of tower toppling -- however, we've not seen anything as concrete as a recent help wanted ad from EA's Boom Blox team. According to the listing, "our last two titles were Wii-based, but our next titles will be for the next generation." We assume they actually mean the current generation's high definition consoles. Otherwise, whoa, we just confirmed the PS4. This job listing, which was initially discovered by internet detective extraordinaire supererogatory, is supported by two other EA job listings he (or she) previously uncovered -- both of which reference Project Natal or the unnamed PlayStation Motion Controller. Unless the studio is changing directions to work on a motion-controlled Mirror's Edge (which would be unimaginably dangerous on Natal), the odds of an upcoming high-def Boom Blox announcement seem pretty good.

Once again, we've bitten the bullet of plotline spoilification for you lot, and measured the believability of two recently released lists of Achievements and Trophies for Assassin's Creed 2. Our initial impression is that they seem legit -- but they also contain references to a number of plot points and gameplay mechanics you may want to remain in the dark about until you get behind the wheel of Ezio Auditore Da Firenze. Check out the rumored list of Achievements and Trophies after the jump. We'll contact Ubisoft to see if we can confirm their authenticity. Last week's rumor of Best Buy's "buy 2, get the 3rd game" sale beginning today rang of truth. The offer is good on all Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 software that's $60 or less, which is pretty much everything not involving plastic peripheral bundles.Best Buy is typically pretty well stocked with software, but with a sale like this, it's probably best to show up early today to get the games you're gunning for. We'll keep an eye on Amazon to see if it matches this sale like it did Toys "R" Us' from a couple weeks ago.
