The disc drive out back may be a bit precariously placed, but 'Hailrazer"'s portable "NCube" reeks of everything we'd want in a handheld version of the last-gen Nintendo console (except for wireless multiplayer, of course). Engadget spotted the 90-hour-in-the-making portable GameCube over on - surprise, surprise! - the Ben Heck forums. A breakdown of the construction process can be found just after the break in video form, though you may want to set up the drool tray now before proceeding. All set? Alright, now go ahead.[Via Engadget]

Tecmo's trying to fill the arcade-basketball-shaped hole in your heart left by NBA Street with NBA Unrivaled, a retro hoops release from developer A.C.R.O.N.Y.M. Games. Though the cleverly-named company is relatively new on the scene, it has experience to draw on after helping Sony build NBA '08: The Life. We're happy to see some fun-loving 5-on-5 take the court, but we're a little nervous about how quickly the game's sneaked up on us: It's arriving this Wednesday on XBLA, and later on PSN, barely enough time to get our sneakers laced up.

Alas, the troubled tale of the Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter has reached a conclusion, albeit not the exact conclusion many (including Microsoft, no doubt) would have hoped. Nearly two months after first being caught in the public spotlight (thanks, FCC!) - and then casually confirmed, sans press release, price, or release date - the Xbox 360's second attempt at a this-should-really-be-built-in wireless networking adapter has found its way to some store shelves, apparently. An Engadget reader snapped the above pic at UK-supermarket Asda where the adapter is evidently selling for £49, which converts to a (relatively speaking!) very reasonable $82. Of course, it's nowhere to be found on any major US retail sites and Microsoft is keeping mum so the cat-and-mouse game continues. Naturally, we've put (another) word into Microsoft and we'll let you know when they respond with the usual shrug.

More content coming to the wastelands.

A portion of a Diehard GameFAN review… Food Network: Cook or Be Cooked is the latest in a long line of cooking related simulations. Although visually the game is the best cooking game out there, and you can actually see food cooking, the controls are rather spotty and the game is so easy you just may [...]

Famitsu has posted the first screens of BlazBlue Portable, the PSP adaptation of Arc System Works' stunning high-definition 2D fighting game. The game has made the transition to the PSP pretty well, at least from what we can tell in still images. The sprites are a lot less smooth, but still detailed, and the screen is still covered with flashy effects. The screens also show the new Legion Mode, in which territory you capture by winning fights is represented by connected nodes. BlazBlue Portable supports ad hoc multiplayer for up to four players, and can be played online with the PS3's Ad Hoc Party mode.

Wizards of the Coast has announced that PC and PS3 gamers have more to look forward to than just Magic: The Gathering Tactics. In spring 2010, Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers will hit PCs, followed by a PS3 version in the fall. Previously available only on Xbox Live Arcade, Duels of the Planeswalkers features traditional Magic gameplay with plenty of unlockable cards as well as online versus and co-op play. The PS3 and PC versions will include similar gameplay, though the press release notes that the PC version will include "an extra bonus." It's up in the air as to what this bonus might be, though more complex deck building would certainly be welcome. Meanwhile, the XBLA version of Planeswalkers will also receive two more expansion packs in spring and summer 2010. These expansions -- like the first, released earlier this year -- will include new cards, characters and some "surprises" as well.

We're enjoying our DS game cases , and our other DS game cases, and all, but we can't help but be a bit jealous at the latest gift available for Japanese Club Nintendo users. Wii de Ultra Hand is an exclusive Wii game based on the classic extendable grabbing toy -- specifically, Nintendo's own version, designed by Gunpei Yokoi and released in 1967. The game uses the Wiimote and Nunchuk to simulate the handles of the Ultra Hand, and tasks players with picking up meat from grills and depositing it on plates. It's available today for just 50 Club Nintendo points, one third the cost of a Wiimote stand. [Via GAME Watch]

Direct link here After watching the video above, things certainly look that way. Looks like the pirate/hacking situation with this title is absolutely out of [...]

It turns out the train from the most recent Spirit Tracks trailer actually has a name, and that name is Mallard. For whatever reason, the Spanish site for Spirit Tracks actually reveals the character’s name. Even more interesting, research shows that the Mallard is actually one of the fastest trains ever built.
