Sony has revealed that PlayStation 3 firmware 3.10, due "soon," will allow the PlayStation 3 to communicate with social media site Facebook. The news comes on the eve of Microsoft's latest Xbox 360 Dashboard update roll-out -- which, among other features, introduces Facebook functionality to that platform.Once firmware 3.10 is installed, the PS3 will be able to send updates to a user's Facebook wall indicating which Trophies they've just unlocked in games and what they've recently purchased from the PSN's PlayStation Store. Developers will have the ability to access Facebook functionality to send more detailed updates to the site from their games, and these options can (as was the case with Trophies) be patched into titles currently on shelves. As foreshadowed by screenshots leaked last week, firmware 3.10 brings with it a handful of other user interface tweaks -- demoed by PlayStation Network director of operations, Eric Lempel, in a video after the break -- but, alas, still no cross-game voice chat.

A piece of Siliconera’s interview with Naoki Morita, Project Director at Red Entertainment: S:Were there any elements you wish you could have added to the game? A portion of 4cr’s review: Beyond the eye candy, what really matters is that the Charge Base IC attempts to solve the problem of charging a WiiMote while the rubber grip is on. Before owning a Wii, I wouldn’t have thought much of that concern, but removing that rubber is an annoyance, especially given the amount [...]

Thanks to Eric Ruth and his PixelForce NES "de-make" of Left 4 Dead, we now have an idea of what the zombie apocalypse simulator would have been like had it released in the '80s. Valve is apparently aware of the project and finds the concept "hilarious." Ruth reveals that he plans to release the full game as a free download in early January 2010 for PC. It features all the campaigns from the original game, including 8-bit incarnations of the special infected, for two players to play through -- it is a NES game after all, fancy four-player didn't exist. Check out a video of the game after the break. The only thing we'd wish this "de-make" had was a sprite flickering zombie rush, so all the youngins could experience the glory of NES flicker when there were too many things on the screen at once for the system's 2KB of RAM.

They should put it up on Steam.

This isn't the Gang Garrison guys right? Because I'm pretty sure they were working on one.

A portion of 8th Circuit’s review: What does make it fun, though, is the ability to send them over WiiConnect24. As of now, I have not received any stages, but I can say the premise is there. That is only one online option. The best is the multiplayer. Connecting with up to three other players, Monster took [...]

With the exception of Tetris, Blast Corps and Mischief Makers, Peggle is arguably the best game ever created. This Thursday, November 19, PS3 owners will be able to find out why, thanks to the simultaneous release of Peggle and Peggle Nights on the PlayStation Network.Sure, it's been a long time coming, but the PS3 will have one exclusive feature to make up for the delayed release: Built-in YouTube support. With this feature, players will be able to upload and share replays directly from the PS3. If you've played Peggle before, you know you're bound to have some "OMG did that really happen" moments you'll want to save forever.

This week, the Virtual Console dumptruck has unloaded two new games onto Wii consoles. One is a fighting game with a superior version already on the service, while the other is a pretty good Factor 5 joint for the SNES. If you fancy yourself an Indy fan (not that kinda Indy), then you'll definitely want to check out the video above. Actually, you should probably just watch it anyway. You know, just to be safe. Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures (SNES, 1 player, 800 Wii Points) Street Fighter II' Champion Edition (TG16, 1 - 2 players, 700 Wii Points) Every week, we like to check out what's new on the Virtual Console. We offer these videos as a sort of taste to help you decide whether or not you would want the game in question. We also toss in our own two cents because we're pushy jerks like that.

Here's how the sausage of video game news gets made: ShackNews reports that the Peggle Nights DLC will arrive on XBLA this Wednesday, November 18. The DLC is a $5 addition to XBLA Peggle, adding sixty-something levels to the game classified in several countries as a controlled substance. Double-checking with Peggle developer PopCap, the company hasn't officially announced the date in a release and is optimistic that Nights will be available this Wednesday. Checking with Microsoft, the company is "looking into it." So, yeah, there's no reason to doubt anyone, but there doesn't seem to be an affirmation of Peggle Nights' release this week.

Snake's first "solid" adventure is finally making its way to Europe's PSN. Eurogamer reports Konami's announcement that the tactical espionage action title will arrive this Thursday, November 19, for £8. We've followed up with Sony Europe and a representative confirmed the release. The PSN version of MGS is the original game released on PlayStation and not the Twin Snakes update released in 2004. For those living the States, the title has been available since this summer. The release of the first Metal Gear Solid on PSN will be followed by MGS: Portable Ops, MGS: Portable: Ops+ and MGS: Digital Graphic Novel. Of course, this is all in preparation for Peace Walker sometime next year.

Johnny Platform's Biscuit Romp emerged as one of the more popular Indie Game titles when the service first launched last year (back when it was known as Community Games). Now, developer Ishisoft is back with a sequel, Johnny Platform Saves Christmas. As the title implies -- and the trailer outright declares -- Christmas is in trouble, and only Johnny Platform can save it. According to GamerBytes, the sequel is packing revamped graphics, wide screen support and 100 levels of running, jumping, head-stomping action. See the trailer after the break.
