We can hardly believe that it's been three whole years since we first enjoyed the splendor of the PlayStation 3 in our own homes. Sure, there weren't a million fantastic games for the console right at launch, and there were a few issues at some stores with poor crowd management, but here we are three years later with a heap of great memories. Remember that nightmare inducing baby ad? How about Sony's response to PlayStation Home being leaked? These days, we have hilarious commercials, a smattering of great exclusive games both on disc and through the PlayStation Network - hell, the system even lost some weight (and half its original price)! We're spending the day celebrating the PS3s lifespan by ... folding proteins like mad! If you're so inclined to join along, we've got this convenient 300 person strong team set up. It's a celebration foldathon, folks - ya dig?

The Game & Watch Collection is a popular catalog item for Club Nintendo, but this year's gift for Japanese gamers who reach Platinum status takes the Game & Watch nostalgia even further. It's a real Game & Watch. Nintendo is producing a new run of the classic handheld Ball, specifically to give away to Club Nintendo members who accrued 400 points or more in the last year. It's a replica of the original, with a Club Nintendo logo added. Like the other Platinum awards, this doesn't cost any points (so Platinum members can still buy Wii de Ultrahand), and will be sent out to everyone who qualifies. As usual, gold members get a calendar. [Via Andriasang]

Gamasutra is continuing to split up its NPD analysis article, which we linked you to on Monday. If you haven’t read through the entire feature, you’ve missed out on discussion of the game industry’s falling sales. It’s definitely going to be tough to top 2008, but can 2010 pull it off?

Wood Man I think both Hard Man and Wood Man have been the butt of many jokes over the years. Poor Robot Masters…they just wanted to do their job, and not get made fun of.

Spike TV's Geoff Keighley has tweeted that Halo: Reach will make its video debut at the 2009 Video Game Awards on December 12. It's probably no stretch to think that this WORLD EXCLUSIVE will extend the audience of the awards show, who will thrust their DVRs into action to obtain the trailer. ... or, you know, they can just come around the internet ten minutes later. Whatever, their choice.

We've never felt satisfied by the weapon customization options afforded to us by first-person shooters. Oh, three different kinds of scopes? An optional grenade launcher attachment? Yeah, those are pretty cool, we guess -- however, we'd also like a different stock, ammo clip, suppressor and barrel on there as well. Hey, while we're at it, we also need a blender. You know, for when we require a cool coconut smoothie in the middle of a heated firefight. The latest trailer for Army of Two: The 40th Day gives us a look into the weapon customization engine we've always dreamed of, giving us unparalleled control over our in-game boomsticks. You can quickly turn your military grade M107 into a hulking, unwieldy monstrosity, complete with hideous, circus-themed camouflage. Sadly, the above trailer doesn't show off any kitchen appliance attachments -- we're sure they'll show up as DLC shortly after the game launches on January 12.

XSEED's Half-Minute Hero is all about compressing game genres, including RPG, RTS, and shmups, down into 30-second increments. So it's only appropriate that a price drop on the game is also under a strict time limit, as it is with this Amazon Deal of the Day. For today only (or until Amazon runs out), the game is marked down to $18.98. Sure, it would be even more appropriate if the sale only lasted half a minute, but then we wouldn't have time to write this post about it and tell you. Our post would look more like this: "hey guys haflmintue hero on sale cheap amazonlike 19 bucks" Gallery: Half-Minute Hero
