“I used to get friends, around five of them, to come in at the weekends. Instead of going to the pub…What I wanted to do with my life at that point was work – I didn’t want to go to the pub or chat up girls. We’d come in and play it multiplayer. We’d [...]

For some strange reason, Capcom is working with Savage Cycles to have an official Resident Evil motorcycle put together. Even Capcom admits that the pairing of the two companies is a strange one. Nevertheless, they do seem pretty jazzed about the whole project. You can see more pics of how the bike [...]

Did you know that Captain Tsubasa is 30 years old now? I didn’t, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. Captain Tsubasa isn’t really known here in the states or in Europe either, but in Japan it’s very popular. That’s why Konami has announced a new Captain Tsubasa DS for release [...]

We found out yesterday that the PSP sequel to Metal Gear Solid 3 will hit shelves in the UK on May 28 -- following a March 18 debut in japan -- and today Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will arrive (via cardboard box, fittingly) at US retail three days earlier on May 25. Although Kojima Productions is at work on a localized English language Peace Walker demo, the Japanese demo, released during Tokyo Game Show '09 (and later improved for release on PSN Japan) is pretty easy to pick up on -- and definitely worth playing. We've contacted Konami in hopes of confirming a digital release of the game for the same week the physical copies hit shelves, and maybe -- just maybe -- we'll get la-li-lu-le-lucky and score a special / limited edition for the States.

I’ve been waiting a long time to get a crack at this puzzle game, as it seems to be a cut above the rest that are available on WiiWare. Plus, it has that amazing soundtrack to boot! Magnetis will be available on WiiWare in North America this Monday for just 500 Nintendo Points.

[GAME Watch] Japan's infatuation with quaint, puzzle-filled villages has yet to wane. The second Professor Layton trilogy has started off on a positive note, with Professor Layton and the Devil's Flute topping the Media Create sales charts. The latest in Level-5's adventure series sold 306,000 copies in its first week at retail. The rest of the weekly bestsellers list is almost entirely dominated by Wii and DS games, like Tomodachi Collection, Wii Fit Plus and another debut, Momotaro Dentetsu 2010!, the latest Wii release of Hudson's Japan-only, train-themed board game series. The sole exception: Winning Eleven 2010, charting at number 7 with 20,000 copies sold. (The soccer sim's life-to-date sales of 312,000 isn't that far off from Layton's first week!) Additionally, Cave's region-free Xbox 360 shmup Mushihime-sama Futari just missed the top ten. [Via Kotaku]

It looks like Zorro, that totally modern and vital character who is absolutely still relevant in 2009, will be appearing in a new DS game published by 505 Games. Zorro: Quest for Justice, released in Europe this September, was just rated by the ESRB for release in North America. This follows the May release of Destiny of Zorro on Wii -- a game first announced in early 2007, and delayed about two years. According to the content description, "Players can roam across rooftops, use a whip to swing across open gaps, and engage in sword combat with the henchmen of Luis Ramon." The rooftop business sounds Assassin's Creed-esque, possibly the same kind of 2.5D used for the DS games. In case you were wondering what the enemies in this game sound like when they die, the ESRB addressed your concerns: "their cries of pain during battle represent the most pertinent content (e.g., 'Ahhhh!' and 'Uggggh!').

Another pair of classic games, neither of which really got the attention they deserved. I’m not saying they were the best games of their time, but they were certainly fun. Perhaps these articles will convince you that you need to take a step back in time and relive these classics.

If you happen to pass us on the street within the next few days, you're probably going to hear us exclaim "maaaaahhdaaaaah" at seemingly random intervals. There's a good reason for that -- the latest teaser for the episodic, co-op mystery series Blue Toad Murder Files features the single greatest narrator ever featured in any trailer, ever. There's something strangely poetic to his cadence, and, of course, to his impassioned dialect every time he utters the third word in the game's title: "Maaaahhdaaaah." Absolutely brilliant. Check out the trailer above, and make sure you stick around until the very end. That's when the narrator really hits his stride.
