Yes, this is a work-in-progress tapestry recreation of world 1-1 from Super Mario Bros. When complete, this baby will run 250×15 inches. Just where on earth do you display something like this?!

It’s hard to argue with the numbers, even if some of them are on the higher end of the lower spectrum. Will we see less Mature-rated support from publishers after consumer responses like these?

The spectrum of available games distribution is wider than ever before, but we're not sure we've ever seen this exact configuration. After previously appearing as a downloadable PC game, fantasy footballer Blood Bowl will come to Xbox 360 and PSP, with an additional retail version on PC, courtesy of SouthPeak. The Warhammer-inspired game will take the field in January on 360 and PC, followed by the PSP in the more nebulous "Spring." Now's the time we turn the post over to your comments, and we can't wait to see what you have to say. We're sure someone has to be offended by this release constellation.

At first, this trailer for WiiWaa had us quite skeptical. Seeing a Wii Remote shoved down the throat of an adorable plush doll clued us in. Certainly this had to be another fake Wii game, a la Mass: We Pray! However, it didn't take long for this trailer to work its magic on our cold, Scrooge-like hearts. Translating playtime with a real-world doll for a video game is rather brilliant, transforming an inanimate toy into something much more engaging and interactive. We can already imagine parents fighting each other at Toys 'R' Us for a WiiWaa plush/game combo set at Christmas next year -- provided the game is, y'know, real. [Thanks Andrew C.]

When you’re playing Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth, does it look like the screenshot above? Chances are it doesn’t, and that goes for myself as well. It turns out that you’ll need to do a little in-game options tweaking to get some visuals closer to the screen above. All you have to do [...]

A portion of a KeepCasual review… Pinball Hall of Fame: The Gottlieb Collection has an unbelievably impressive presentation. Sure, the core aspect of the game is playing pinball, but the folks who developed the game are so passionate about the subject matter that Gottlieb Collection educates as well as entertains.

The good folks at IncGamers had a chat with one of BioWare's founding medical doctors, Ray Muzyka, about the company's history of classic single-player gaming and its upcoming foray into the world of massively multiplayer with Star Wars: The Old Republic. Muzyka says that the line between solo and collective experiences is blurring: even traditionally single-player games are dipping into the vast realms of multiplayer co-op and competition through online social tools and downloadable content. Speaking specifically, he says that Dragon Age: Origins is a good example, with online social features for what is definitely a single-player experience. And Mass Effect 2, he says, will explore these ideas through its own DLC. In fact, he outright guarantees us that BioWare is "planning more [DLC] than in Mass Effect 1." As players who couldn't get enough of the two packs on offer for the original game, that's Muzyka to our ears.

Virtual Console aficionados have been waiting a long time for this one. Pilotwings is finally here and it's pretty much just like you remember it: highly repetitive; punishingly difficult, but as rewarding as ever. Check it out in the latest episode of VC in Brief above! Pilotwings (SNES, 1 player, 800 Wii Points) Every week, we like to check out what's new on the Virtual Console. We offer these videos as a sort of taste to help you decide whether or not you would want the game in question. We also toss in our own two cents because we're pushy jerks like that.

I’m not going to talk in detail about this patent finding, simply because it looks like the game may end up on the PSP. The patent doesn’t name a specific platform, but there are images within the patent of a device that looks pretty much like a PSP. That doesn’t mean there’s no [...]

If more Borderlands DLC is just what the doctor ordered - not Doctor Ned, of course, star of the shooter slash RPG's first DLC outing - then look no further than this week's "Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot." Developer Gearbox is giving Joystiq readers an exclusive look at the above gameplay trailer, showing off some of the pack's offerings: three new Riot Mode arenas, the "bank" where you can " 'stache your loot" and a litany of modifiers, like "Hot Potato," "Loaded" and "Dodgeball." It's a slow week, folks - "Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot" spices things up on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network tomorrow.
