When you bought your DSi, you may have told people you were interested in downloadable Art Style games and augmented reality apps, but we know you were preparing yourself for the day you'd get to digitally insert your face into Naruto character portraits. Well, your dream will come true soon, when Takara Tomy releases Nari Chara Naruto Shippuden in Japan. The app seems pretty simple: choose your Naruto image with a blanked-out character face, choose (or shoot) a DSi-snapped photo, and just like that, you and Sasuke are best friends forever. You can also add effects, holiday messages, and turn your photo into a slide puzzle! [Via Siliconera]

Have your peripherals gotten dirty, like, just plain filthy? Well, don't touch them! You could catch something. Instead, consider buying clean ones during Amazon's peripheral sale. Controllers, adapters, wires, and even Xbox Points cards are included, with discounts ranging from 10-25 percent off regular prices. The sale doesn't appear to have a clear end date, so you could have any number of days to take advantage. In a separate promotion, Amazon is offering a $20 credit toward a future video game purchase (made by March 31) when spending at least $80 on select software. This promotion ends January 2, and the credit will be applied directly to your account after the items ship. Only one credit per household. Void where prohibited. Don't stare directly into the sun. Always tip your waitress.

Though it's certainly not the sleekest handheld device we've ever seen -- in fact, it might be in the running for the unsleekest device ever created -- the latest project from a modder, nicknamed Techknott, boasts some pretty impressive capabilities. Basically, the handheld sends control signals to a PS3, which transmits video signals back to the device, allowing for nomadic sessions of Modern Warfare 2 (or any other PS3 game), as seen in the video after the jump. According to the modder's post on BenHeck.com, the device will soon be available for purchase. It certainly looks neat, but we're not sure the clunky controls will help you set any Spec Ops world records. Seriously, this guy's time on The Pit is garbage.

Namco Bandai has confirmed an Australian release for The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces on March 4th, 2010. Every time I hear about this game, I’m reminded of how I haven’t gotten a chance to watch the anime feature yet. I actually have the evening off today, as it’ll be Deux Wednesday in a [...]

A portion of an NWR review… I suppose the final verdict is that Stunt Cars is fun if you have a room full of people who want to play a racing game that’s not called Mario Kart. Its single-player flaws are crippling and ensure that Stunt Cars remains a strictly multiplayer experience.

A portion of a 1up Retro Blog review… In the end, I think the same factor that gave us Blaster Master’s more annoying design decisions — i.e., it’s an NES game — is the same factor that mitigates the frustration of those decisions. Gaming was still a wild frontier back in 1988, and developers were still [...]

Man, this game just keeps dropping surprises on me, even years after release. I had no idea these guys were in the game. I guess RARE/Nintendo couldn’t get the clearance to user their likenesses in the final product, so they just locked the characters out.

Arc System Works has built a legacy of fighting games with its Guilty Gear franchise. Recently, the company introduced a new fighting franchise in BlazBlue, and even though it was very well-received -- it's almost at a 90 on Metacritic and we certainly enjoyed it -- fight fans want to know when they'll get more Guilty Gear. Well, based on comments made by series producer/creator Daisuke Ishiwatari to NowGamer, an Xbox 360 and PS3 installment may already be under consideration. "I have the full intention to create Guilty Gear for PS3 and 360." Ishiwatari said. There was even some talk of a BlazBlue/Guilty Gear crossover, though Arc System Works business development director Tomo Ohno avoided any definitive commitments. "BlazBlue is a new thing, and there might be some crossover but at the moment we don't have any plans." [Via Kotaku]
