Hidden among a bunch of fairly low-profile releases (although we love Shadow Dancer, and Stop Stress developer Abylight is super nice) is something really cool: a new tilt-controlled DSiWare game. And it's not the one shown off yesterday, nor the wacky one released in Japan. Like Engine Software's tech demo, Rollway Puzzle is a game about moving a ball through mazes -- but with a top-down perspective (and a release date of today). You can see it on video after the break. Stop Stress: A Day of Fury (WiiWare, 1 player, 800 Wii Points) Stunt Cars (WiiWare, 1-4 players, 800 Wii Points) Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi (Mega Drive, 1 player, 800 Wii Points) Art Academy: Second Semester (DSiWare, 1 player, 800 Wii Points) Move your Brain - Rollway Puzzle (DSiWare, 1 player, 500 Wii Points) Sokomania (DSiWare, 1 player, 200 DSi Points) [Thanks, RupeeClock!]

If you use it to play the game, it's in the game, right? While they aren't all bundled like Peter Moore suggested in 2008, EA announced that it has made agreements with three companies to produce EA Sports-branded game peripherals. While no details about the actual product lines have been announced (except that some of them will be used with EA Sports Active, which does come bundled with accessories), EA did name the three companies it's working with. Sakar International will market EA Sports accessories for Wii and DS, as well as "a full range of EA Sports-branded multi-media and computer accessories"; Sunflex Europe will sell an unspecified line of peripherals in Europe; and, most mysteriously, A4T will produce accessories for "all platforms, including iPod," with exclusive rights in the UK and Ireland.

Click image for even bigger mechs and explosions Just like Capcom has done for Super Street Fighter IV, the publisher's unloaded a healthy dose of new Lost Planet 2 media during CES 2010. In our gallery below, you'll find we've tactically placed seven new screens to study, each with the requisite number of explosions and gigantic metal killing machines. Oh, and light bloom. There's a lot of that. If moving pictures are more your speed, head past the break to observe a group boss battle against Akrid X, courtesy of GameVideos.

Did Qore say February 16 was the day Heavy Rain would be released? It meant February 23! As if specifically intended to correct this morning's report, Sony just announced the for-real North American release date for the adventure game. A reminder: pre-ordering the title will get you free launch-day access to the first downloadable Heavy Rain Chronicles episode, which won't be available otherwise until a later date. Sony also confirmed European release dates for Quantic Dream's interactive novel thing: February 24 for mainland Europe and February 26 in the UK and Ireland.

Rock Band Weekly features one act next week: Alice In Chains. The band, which has sold 17 million albums worldwide, released a new album last September after ... yikes, fourteen years! (Hey, at least they didn't go all Duke Nukem Forever, right?) Next week's DLC track pack includes two songs from the new album, along with "We Die Young" from the band's debut record, plus two ditties from their self-titled 1995 album. Check out complete pricing and track details for the console releases after the break.

Electronic Arts is really pushing to gain ground in the battle for FPS multiplayer popularity. Speaking with MCV, EA Europe senior VP Jens Uwe Intat proclaimed that March's launch of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be the publisher's "first strong attack" launched on Call of Duty. By that stream of logic, we're guessing the Medal of Honor reboot would be the second? Intat believes that if any studio can take on Modern Warfare, it's DICE. He reiterates that the "shooter" genre is important to the publisher and that EA is "certainly working on how [it] can get that crown back." Meanwhile, Bungie sips a mocha and buffs Halo 3 on the mantel. [Via CVG]

The latest issue of PS3's interactive monthly show-thing, Qore, offers a release date of February 16 for Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain. In this Qore menu screen captured by Examiner, the release date -- presumably for North America -- is listed as fact, just like, that's what it's always been. However, we shouldn't take this as an official announcement -- since Sony chose to reveal the European collector's edition of the game with a big post on the Playstation Blog and a press release, we would expect something similarly flashy for the official launch date reveal, and not just a low-key method like this. At best, Qore's listing is the sort of early "leak" that makes us love Qore. As for a UK date, CVG's shadowy sources indicate that the best guess for the European release date is still February 26.

Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer graces this newly revealed cover for Sony's MLB 10 The Show. It's an apt choice, considering one of the big new features of this year's iteration is the ability to play as the catcher, calling pitches whilst scratching your groin. The PlayStation-exclusive series will appear on PS3, PSP and PS2 on March 2, the same day as 2K Sports' multiplatform MLB 2K10.

We haven't heard much about Backbreaker in a good year and a half, but the Euphoria Engine-powered football title (thinkThe Force Unleashed, with all of those Stormtroopers flying around) is still hitting first downs. It's now set for a release in spring of 2010 (ah, spring, when everyone's mind turns to football -- oh wait), and 505 Games has screenshots and a brand new trailer to share. The game will boast both online and split-screen multiplayer, Arcade and Pro modes (the tougher one will have AI and visual assists switched off) and full team customization options, including a full logo editor. But of course the real star quarterback here is the physics engine -- while the video hints at some great dynamic tackling and movement, we'll have to wait and see if the gameplay provides some real innovation in the football genre.
