If there's one enigma we can't wrap our heads around, it's the one involving the rather curious naming of Japanese figure manufacturer Revoltech Yamaguchi. Revoltech? It sounds like they should be making soggy clumps of hair -- not these rather dashing and highly positionable approximations of Professor Layton. As noted by GundamLunatics.info, the quick-witted puzzle buff features 14 points of articulation, a jacket made of a soft material and loads of apt accessories, including a puny pen and a tiny teacup. Of course, every piece of merchandise has a price, and you'll look to spend 2,400 Yen (roughly $26) when he arrives on March 15. For more info and images, hit the source link. [Via Examiner, Kotaku]

A BBFC classification for a "Game of the Year" edition of Batman: Arkham Asylum has popped up online, causing quite a stir here at Joystiq HQ. While we all agree that Batman was "a game of the year," the listing offers no clues as to what would be included in a GOTY package. So, allow us to activate detective mode: First, there's the two DLC packs for the game to consider: the Insane Night map pack (free for everyone) and Prey In The Darkness, available on PS3 in the US and on both PS3 and Xbox 360 in Europe. Also, those that pre-ordered the original game from GameStop received access to the challenge map Dem Bones, while those that snagged the fancy Collector's Edition got their own unique challenge map in Crime Alley -- both could hypothetically be included in a special edition re-release. Considering all the DLC out there (but c'mon, we want more Rocksteady!), there's a valid GOTY edition in the making here. We've turned on our own joy signal in the hopes of attracting Warner Bros., Eidos and Rocksteady for clarification. We'll let you know just as soon as they show up on our rooftop. [Thanks, C.A.]

Direct link/source here A theme that is pretty much completely unknown to any Nintendo-loving fan in North America and Europe. A game industry where Beyond Good and Evil 2 is cancelled is not a game industry I want to be a part of. For awhile there, the existence of the title was quite sketchy. Ubisoft couldn’t decide if they wanted to show the game, deny its existence, or tell us that it was [...]

If you were looking for the more punishing end of the "Trophy Difficulty Spectrum," you've found it: PlayStation.Blog recently revealed the full list of Trophies for Zipper Interactive's MAG, which will require completionists to get a character to the level cap for each of the title's three factions. Based on our time with the demo, we estimate that process will take you about until MAG 2: Now With 257-Player Battles comes out. Click past the jump to see the rest of the game's unlockable accomplishments.

Art Style: Pictobits This game is a winner no matter what version of the DSi you download it on, but having it on the DSi XL should make it even easier to play. The action can get pretty hectic, and the larger play area will definitely come in handy when you’re swapping bits like a [...]

At first glance, the headline may not make much sense, but that's exactly what this screenshot for the newly announced The Flying Hamster is telling us. Newton the Flying Hamster will have to soar through six levels, from the "big Japanese city" to "crazy ancient Egypt." No trips to normal ancient Egypt for this rodent! Developed by The Game Atelier for the PSP, The Flying Hamster will also feature more than thirty enemies, ranging from "sneaky penguins, anti-air cows, exploding foxes" and worst of all, "ninja squirrels." Who else just became incredibly excited for this shmup?

Nintendo got Paon's Glory of Heracles into my house the same way the Greeks got soldiers into Troy: with a Trojan Horse. Although this horse was in a box, so the elaborate ruse really didn't play into my acceptance of the item. And thankfully, the cartridge didn't murder me after emerging. As has become the company's custom of late, Nintendo packaged its review copy of Glory of Heracles cutely, with the cartridge hidden away inside the papercraft horse. Along with the horse and the empty game case, Nintendo sent a scroll -- a letter from the immortal Greek demigod himself, exhorting us to retrieve the cartridge and help him regain his memories. Embark upon a grand looking-at-pictures adventure in our gallery. Does anyone else find it hilarious and kind of adorable to imagine Nintendo PR staff carefully cutting, folding and gluing a bunch of papercraft horses?

"Understand this: The Sam Fisher you knew is dead." Spolier alert! Nah, he's very much alive (albeit starring in a game that's delayed yet again), and this latest trailer for Splinter Cell: Conviction features one Victor Coste, private military contractor and veritable encyclopedia on all things that make a (now) former Third Echelon agent go ker-azy. And man, can he lay it on. "He's off the leash and going for answers," Coste says, in an extremely serious tone. We think the first question Fisher's going to ask this guy when he catches him is, "Just how many times have you watched The Bourne Identity, anyway?"
