Pyroblazer development teams Candella Systems Ltd. and Eipix Entertainment have announced another flashy multiplatform downloadable title. Eclosion is a vertical shooter for Wii, PC, PSP, and XBLA with something called "Co-op Single Player," which, we're guessing, means either an AI partner or an Echoshift-style mechanic in which you play with previous instances of yourself. To us, the most interesting part of this game will be its soundtrack. According to the press release, Eclosion features "a blend of modern and authentic retro music created on analogue retro synthesizers like the original SID chip on the Commodore 64." Oh, and "eclosion" is the hatching of an insect from its egg or pupa case. We had to look it up.

Mega Man 10…I cannot wait for this one. The more old-school in 2010, the better. As long as Capcom keeps returning to classic Mega Man-style gameplay, I’ll be there to make a purchase.

Hey, whaddya know! Metro 2033 apparently does allow players to exit the titular Russian metro system, as evidenced by the smattering of new screens handed over this morning by THQ. Included among them was the requisite box art shot, featuring a strikingly Helghastian face hovering just above the game's logo. Though we've yet to hear an official release date for the title, last week's three full minutes of gameplay and today's cavalcade of screens (including the game box art) give us the impression that we'll hear about that sooner rather than later. In the meantime, we'll be trying to figure out what this giant gun turret is for. Gallery: Metro 2033 (1/14)

Update: Ubisoft confirmed to G4TV that the translation was accurate and "Yes, Beyond Good & Evil 2 and I Am Alive are both still in development." Guess that answers that! Because it will make the vagueness of today's rumor even more hilarious for you, we're going to walk you through the incredible history of Beyond Good & Evil 2 real quick: May 2008: Ubisoft announces Beyond Good & Evil 2, with a trailer and everything, though not specifically naming it as such. July 2009: Ubisoft North America's president Laurent Detoc says that while BG&E stuff is being worked on, it doesn't necessarily mean another game is on the way. August 2009: Gamersyde says it's on hold, and Ubisoft won't comment one way or another. And now, here we are in January of 2010. As spotted by VG247, Gamekult asked Ubisoft France boss Geoffroy Sardin about I Am Alive and BG&E 2 and was told, "Ils sont toujours en production tous les deux"; directly translated, "They're both always/still in production." Alright, so which do you prefer: canceled and dead forever or always in production?

Did you know that the Clock Tower series started off on the Super Nintendo? Well, Super Famicom I guess I should say. While that game never made it to the states, the comic that released alongside it has finally seen a fan-translation. Hit up the link below to check it out.

Sega opened the official website for Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing earlier this week and now, thanks to some sleuthing from tssz|news, it looks like the remaining playable characters have been uncovered. Hidden in the website's code are several images, including the one above. Close inspection reveals Akira Yuki of Virtua Fighter alongside what looks to be Jacky Bryant. Also pictured is one of the characters from Bonanza Bros and what appears to be Opa-Opa from Fantasy Zone. Digging further into the websites code, tssz discovered images of KapuKapu, otherwise known as the cat from the classic Dreamcast puzzler, ChuChu Rocket. Some decent additions to the roster, to be sure, but there seem to be some puzzling omissions as well. No Phantasy Star? Where's Kid Chameleon? Altered Beast would be a great fit as well. There's always DLC, right?

Okay, kids, Square-Enix has a big announcement, so try to contain your excitement. The company has announced that its critically panned, overpriced XBLA title, 0 day Attack on Earth, is getting its very own overpriced DLC! The London Map Pack, laughably priced at 560 ($7), contains new London-based maps, new enemies and a higher difficulty setting. The maps can also be played in the 2-4 player co-op mode but not in the 8 player capture-the-flag or control point modes. Should you wish to buy the map pack, perhaps as some kind of self-flagellating practical joke, it's available on Xbox Live Marketplace now. Seriously though, there are many, many better games to spend those points on.

Nintendo and Target are teaming up for the "Wii Fit Plus Experience," which is apparently an elaborate version of the Sports Authority experience with prizes. Across the United States' lower latitudes, visitors to the experience, which will be held in the parking lot or entrance of the stores between January 16-31, will gain (/groan) "feet-on" time with Wii Fit Plus. Those who complete the Wii Fit Plus demo will receive a $15 gift card (while supplies last), which "can be applied toward any Target purchase." Therefore, we recommend humoring the Nintendo "ambassadors" working the kiosks. Gratefully take that gift card and blow it on junk food -- then get time-lapse coverage of all that junk food going straight to your ever-expanding butt and post it on YouTube. The locations holding the Wii Fit Plus Experience can be found after the break.

As the week goes on, more and more current and former Rockstar Games employees have come forward to us (and other outlets) with information corroborating the repeated allegations of substandard working conditions at the developer's various studios. Today, however, we received news from a former Rockstar Vancouver employee regarding the status of "late 2010" title Max Payne 3 -- a title currently in development at the Canadian dev house. According to our source (who, unsurprisingly, asked to be kept anonymous), "Virtually everything said in the original 'Rockstar wives' letter and by current and former Rockstar San Diego employees in the comments applies to my experience at Rockstar Vancouver." The source also alleges an "August 2010" completion window for development of the game, though the source isn't optimistic that'll happen. "The game's story just went through another total re-write earlier this month (the third that I am aware of in the past two years) and that [means] the team would have to have all of the content done by April or May to make that August release date." Further claims about the studio range from an "enforced crunch mode through to the end of the project" that results in "14 - 16 hour work days, six or seven days a week" to a canceled two weeks of vacation over the past holidays. We've once again contacted Rockstar Games for comment and have yet to hear back as of publishing. If you are an employee of Rockstar Games and would like to tell us more about your experiences, we'd love to hear what you have to say.

EA is informally considering a limited edition release of Dead Space 2 (surprise!) and has taken to Facebook to get some ideas from fans about what to include in it. "I will have our Executive Producer Steve Papoutsis comment on some of your suggestions next week," the announcement reads, " ... so make them good!" Presumably, Papoutsis will select his favorite suggestions -- already ideas are as tame as comics and as outrageous as a life-size plasma cutter -- and submit them to EA, which will then toss those out and proceed with a Collector's Edition featuring a soundtrack and an artbook.
